Two installments left.
Well, one after this.
"So, did you have a pleasant dream?" The smooth voice rang in my ears. I whirled around to see Kev leaning back against a corner, watching me from under his spiked hair.
"Was that all it was? A dream?" I asked, strolling closer. Kev looked down, chuckling. I stopped when I was right under his nose. "Pity. A kiss is a terrible thing to waste." His head jerked up and I caught his mouth with mine. He stiffened in surprise, then growled and yanked me against him. My head spun, my knees gave out and my last thought was "At long last, I found him." The recognition I felt was overwhelming. I finally understood why it had been so easy to dismiss other guys. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck and rejoiced. I was home.
I hadn't been sure she'd heard me until she spun around. She answered and I chuckled. Still playing Integral to the hilt. It was fair, I was in Bon mode, but at the same time I wanted the costumes gone. No more anime characters. Just her and I, ourselves, talking.
"Pity. A kiss is a terrible thing to waste." My head jerked up, but before I could ask what she meant, she showed me. The shock was instantly replaced with longing and I pulled her against me. I angled my head, deepened the kiss. Lightbulbs went off in my head and I barely suppressed a groan. Fascination became desire became love became the surety that I was holding my one-and-only. Her arms went around my neck and her emotions flooded through me. I returned the favor, sliding my hands under her suit jacket and up her back. She jerked away, forcing me to open my eyes. We stared at each other, panting.
"Hi." I said softly. She giggled. The sound tickled my spine. I'll have to make her do that more often.
"Hi." She whispered.
