First Dance
“Would you care to dance?”
“Dance?” I blink at him.
“That is why you came, isn’t it?” He stands, a funny little smile playing over his face.
“I came for Candy’s sake.” Speaking of… I glance around and see her eyeing me over the shoulder of a brunet. She points at Rae, then at me, then at the floor. I sigh and look up at Rae. He holds out his hand as the current song ends. I take it, resigning myself. Or is it steeling myself? Rae pulls me to my feet and we walk to the dance floor. I turn into his arms as the music starts. We’re a good fit together. Just then I recognize the tune and look up at him.
“No Need to Promise?” Rae grins down at me and whirls me around. Wow. Sexy, intelligent, anime fan and he can dance. Now what am I supposed to do?
“One of my favorite series, actually.”
“Let me guess. The mechs.”
“And the artwork. The various kingdoms were beautiful.”
“You didn’t find the story mushily romantic?” I cock an eyebrow at him. He twirls me out, pulls me under his arm and then spins me back into his embrace. Oh my.
