It's not too big, just...awkward. Tucking the kimono into the hakama proved a bit challenging, and the printed "how to tie a hakama" directions did not take your shortened obi into consideration, so I had to fake that.
But it's INCREDIBLY comfy, I'm currently lounging in the kimono with an old braided belt for an obi, and the hakama directions included "How to fold after wearing in the hopes of keeping the pleats crisp."
