My foot, my foot, my only foot!

Kudos to whomever gets THAT reference.

Saw the doc Thursday morning. Not my normal doc, but she was hawt. My foot was visibly swollen, but not ballooned out like a broken bone. Some mild discoloration, but not dark enough to suggest any form of clotting. They took an Xray to check for stress fractures.

Turns out, I DO have a stress fracture, near the ankle, but it looked at least 2 weeks old and healing nicely, so Doc K didn't think it was the source of my pain. Most likely it is strained/sprained tendons and/or ligaments. She wrapped it up, gave me a script for painkillers (as the OTC stuff was still doing bumpkis) and sent me back to work.

I didn't take any pain meds until I got home, roughly 8:45 last night, long story, not for here. I fell into bed around 10:45 and slept well.

This morning I waited until I was into work before I popped another one, just to be safe. It's been about an hour and I am starting to melt. This is not of the good. I shall have to wait until the end of the day to take another one. Boo. Hiss.

Do you have any idea what happened 2 weeks ago to give you a stress fracture?

It's possible that you unconsciously felt pain from the stress fracture and compensated in a way that relieved that pain but strained your connective tissues.

Aye, that's the problem with good painkillers: they stop the pain but make your mind oogy.

Feel better soon, sweetie.

Not the slightest clue. I've tripped over all kinds of stuff in the last month.
