And don't worry too much about the job, i know it's not something you want for teh next five years, but maybe it's something you NEED for the next five years. As for your ear, free clinic! I'm not actually sure if there are such things, but on TV that's how most American's get fixed.
The thought of being sick and NOT being able to just go to teh emergency room scares the hell outta me and pisses me off at the same time. I sit here just reaffirming my love for my country, which is FAR from perfect but I have never once had an emergency and had to think financially before it got taken care of. *sigh*
As for Wolf you know him beter then I. Most people who are suffering from depresion act teh way he is acting. I would suggest getting him minto a Docter and seeing if medication might help, but I know that's pretty much an impossibility where you are. Has he tried the old herbal remedies like St. John's Wort etc etc? It sounds a bit cliche, but it just might work:>
