Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
Drove to Golden, Colorado
on a second hand motorcycle
and they said I was fired.
No longer an employee
what does that mean?
They said...
I can't make the rest fit, but the gist was that no employees of K, my current contracting company (hah!) were allowed to ride motorcycles because the vehicles were too much of a liability. Also, because I went to Golden instead of the job site, (spectacular demonstration of getting lost, Golden being two hours away) that was counted as a "no-show" against me. Two strikes and I was out.
In reality, the new job is going swimmingly. I've made very good impressions and rumor has it I'm on the list to be hired on permanently. I have no idea when that might happen. I expect it to be a few months, possibly not until next year. This is fine by me. Having a solid paycheck coming in is good for my psyche, especially with 9/30 looming. My personal date of infamy.
