You remind me of the babe...

Finally saw Labryinth.

David Bowie has a very sexy singing voice.

Jennifer Connolley is a cutie.

And I almost feel sorry for the J/S shippers out there. Sorry, folks, I don't see the love. What I saw was a desparate Prince of Dreams trying to stay alive and being shot down by his Dreamer. Although the threat to turn Hoggle into a prince of stench if Sarah kissed him gave me pause.

If I had seen it in my teens, I would've been right up there with the doey-eyed dreamers saying "You idiot! Take him!" I also would've been scared of the goblins. *shrug* I'm a wuss, I make no bones about it. As an adult, Labryinth comes across as a coming of age tale against the fantasies musical protests.

I feel oddly disappointed and at the same time justified. It WAS all a trap.

Loved the music. Now I'll have to find some more Bowie. The opening song sums up how I feel about Wolf, actually...

It's only forever.

Not long at all.

After checking out the role playing game Exalted's take on the Fair Folk (as virtue-sucking, unearthly beautiful monsters) I much prefer to think that she never really 'escaped' Jareth. I mean, she still saw all her goblin friends after, right? He's feeding off her hopes and desires.

Yes, exactly. There's no romance. It's all about survival for him. You can put away childish dreams, but they still linger in the back of your mind, waiting for a chance to flood you again.

And if you look at Labryinth as 'it really happened', instead of 'it was all in her head', then it's what you said. He's feeding off of her without her realizing it. That kind of magic never lets a person go.
