September and the pigskins are flying...
All around good weekend for the football fans at Queenie's house. Our teams won, whoot!
Granted, we only watched the Jets game, and I only watched the first half of the Packers game, but it is a good start for the season.
Am still tempted to bitch-slap color commentators for talking Super Bowl this bloody early.
Am amused at recent Sears commercial featuring Mr. Favre waffling on a large screen TV. Am not sure if I've forgiven him for leaving the Jets for the Vikings. THE VIKINGS, of all teams. Oh well, at least it wasn't da Bears. Whom we beat. *smug*
Sunday was a very lazy day. Wolf has been having ear problems since Thursday, which culminated Sunday with him sleeping 2/3rds of the day and resorting to pain pills. I dosed him several times with lemon-honey tea for his sore throat, he wouldn't take the salt gargle, said it hurt too much. He also was feverish last night, which is very interesting and not a mite concerning to watch. Fever broke about three hours after dosing w/Tylenol, so yay.
I managed to get my flower decorations down and replaced them with grapevine zigzags decorated with various fake fall foilage. My seasonal house decorations are now complete. All I have to do is restock candles as needed. The Buddha has a new blue candle coming, and I'm trying to finish off the mantle candles so I can replace them.
There was much sleeping done Sunday, by everyone.

It seems to be arguably better to be a non-feline land mammal, bird, or European than to be a cat or Native American..

It's. Too. Damned. Early.

However, given how much analysis is done, and how much time the folks in the studio have to fill, I'm surprised they waited this long. After all, they know how the drafts went, how seasoned players performed in the past, how the training went, how the exhibition games went, etc, etc, etc, surely predictions can be made, especially when it's 5min till commercial break and the teams are in a huddle getting ready for the next play and unless you say something you'll have dead air...

I finished the hakama. :) I think it looks pretty good, and the stitches will hold up 100% better than last time since I doubled up on all of the seams. Seriously, two and a half full bobbins of thread, and the corresponding amount off of the spool went into this thing. :)

Can you say "on-side kick?"

Wolf was so impressed that I called the 2002 Super Bowl. I then went on to repeat the feat for the 2008 Super Bowl. ^_^
