Victory!

I have passed the Notary Public test.

whoo.

Now it's fill out the form, take the oath, have a notary notarize it (HAH!) and send in the $60 fee. Once I get the official paperwork back, I can order my notary stamp and be all legal and stuff.

whoo.

This is about the only good news I've had today. Still angry, still hurt, still sick and tired of this grieving process and still being grateful for the friends that hug and the friends that bitch-slap as needed. Because it's pretty obvious I need BOTH.

"have a notary notarize it" is quite possibly the funniest phrase I've read today.
My mom was a single parent for most of my childhood. My parents divorced before I was 3, and my dad died when I was 11. My grandmother and uncle and aunt made sure that she had time to herself so she didn't just collapse from the stress.
Taking care of your own needs isn't selfishness; it's a necessity. Preventative maintenance, as it were. Grief is exhausting, both mentally AND physically. It's like wearing a lead poncho. But you can find a place to take it off and set it aside for a while.
And while I can't say "it gets better" in a cliched kind of way, the burden does become more bearable. I'm not sure whether it's because we get callouses or because we get stronger, but eventually it will happen. And the first time it does, you'll feel guilty about it, but that will fade, too.
I know you can't SEE the light at the end of the tunnel, but I promise you, I swear to you that it is there.
How do you feel about incense? Do you use it in ritual or meditation?

I love incense and use it mostly for ritual and purification. In fact, I intend to smoke out my Ritual Room with sage and sandalwood once I get myself back into the right headspace.

As for meditation, I tend to either go with the Golden Mirror visualization or a breathing technique I learned from one of my customers. On rare occasions, like last night, I turn on my Stan Richardson Shakuhachi, which is used at the dojo. Very good bamboo flute.

I am looking forward to seeing you, where I will hug you and most likely not bitch-slap you... but I'll prime my hand just in case. :*

*hugs* Sending you long distance hugs.
I also agree with chezelliott.

Taking time for you is allowed.
I think I'd go crazy if I were in your situation, so I'm really proud of you.

I will have to come up with something for you to notarize and drive down there.
*hugs*

YOU need to come down for tea and cookies.
