to have a tradition for Wolf that involves good cake on his birthday and sharing memories?

He still holds the record for Best Bruce Springsteen Impression for me. His "I'm On Fire" had me red as a tomato and a silly grin.

Those of you who remember Wolf, please leave a memory. I want to start a collection for Cuteness.

I don't think that's strange, or morbid, either, which is the other word people often use to denigrate death traditions. Isn't that basically what all the Dia Del Mort traditions around the world are?
My memory of Wolf had to do with him and his dog, Bear. He was at our house with the Beast one night, and someone dropped and incebube ont he floor. Before I could bend to pick it up, he yelled "Bear! Ice Cube!" and this huge dog came barrelling into the kitchen, snuffling around on the floor till Wolf finally helped him locate the cube, then the big smile on Wolfs face as Bear enthusiastically crunched up the ice cube. I looked at him and said, "I never knew dogs like ice!" He siad matter-of-factly, "Of course they do. What do dogs love more than water, and things that go crunch? And what are ice cubes but water that goes CRUNCH?"
Since then I have taught all my dogs to chase ice cubes!

Bear? The only dog I know Wolf had was Dancer, who was mostly wolf himself and HUGE. I met Dancer about a year before RBDarkly had to put him down due to old age.

He did have a smaller female dog named Persephone...

Dancer died a natural death. RBDarkly did not have him put down.
Dancer was part of my pack. He loved me and Craig and always ALWAYS came to the fence to greet us, even when he could barely hobble there.
And Dancer will always be linked in my mind with Kevin.

Oh? I'm glad to hear that. RBD called us six months after the fact and Wolf did all the talking.
