Clean All The Things!

Data Monkey ended Wednesday afternoon. I am now free for at least another week, I'm hoping I get two so I can job hunt it up job hunting style. I don't MIND the work, but it's not enough. And the interview resulted in a polite rejection letter. So. Yeah.

Anyway! Yesterday SNB was off, so we shipped Cuteness off to Mama A and the three of us declared we would CLEAAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!

I took the kitchen while the males went outside to try and reclaim more of the garage. That lasted about an hour. IDK came in first announcing SNB was very angry and he was to help me. I sent him to the living room. SNB came in later ranting about cardboard. There's a lot of cardboard in the garage. We are responsible for most of it, but I think some was there when we moved in. SNB has made great strides in the garage, but he's ready to torch the cardboard. He took the dining room.

We started about 10 am. By 11 am, everyone was inside cleaning the downstairs. Oh, did we clean. I cleaned off the stove, the counters AND mopped the big stains off the linoleum with Simple Green and a Swiffer Wet Jet (I was out of the wet jet fluid). I even removed the laundry bucket and mopped that area. There is no more laundry bucket.

IDK took several rounds of reminding to get the living room acceptable. The computer desk is still an eyesore, but we can work with that. The big green comfy couch was moved and those areas cleaned out. Oh dear gods.

SNB finished the dining room in record time and spent about half an hour assembling the shiny black coat rack we had ordered, oh, months ago. I helped and then we took all the coats and hats and stuff off the wall by the staircase. Those that we kept are now hanging on the rack. A few things will be shuffled off to Cousin A for her daughter and the rest goes to Salvation Army. I will need to do that tomorrow.

By 1 pm we were done to our satisfaction. We had lunch and then played video games until it was time to pick up Cuteness. Then we went to Buffet Star for dinner. Their spread is AMAZING for dinner. They had COCKTAILS. I got a lychee martini that came with three lychees on a bamboo skewer. I could have easily downed two or three of those, but SNB was going to play cards and I needed to be sober to mind the children. I drank it slowly. Oh, was it good! Tasted like lychees with a faint alcohol burn.

Today will be a quieter day. I have my follow up appointment at 2:30, so we will be leaving around 1:15 so I can drop SNB off, take the kiddos to Mama A, and get to my appointment. Cuteness is staying for the weekend, I intend to coax the boys to go strawberry picking at the CSA.

There is one in the Price Chopper Plaza on Main St., and another-might be closer for you-next to Olums on the Parkway. I LOVE them both! You crack me up, and I wish you would pursure publishing some of your fan fiction. Would you be interested in coming to a meeting or two of the Women Writers group I belong to? I think you might enjoy it.

Once I'm finished with Maybe You Should Have Stayed Home, I am TOTALLY taking out all the Sailor Moon bits and turning it into a modern fantasy novel with yakuza and demons and kitsune-with-a-crush, oh my! Rumor has it that's how "Fifty Shades of Grey" started. Not that I expect anything spectacular like that.

And yes, I would love to come to a Woman's Writer group!
