Feeling a bit better...

Doc walked off stage, not even bothering to acknowledge the semi-drunk crowd cheering him. He stalked over to the table and yanked the camera out of Janny's hands.
"Don't ever do that again." He growled. Janny blinked innocently.
"Janny! Come on up! Janny, everybody!" Janny winked at the table in general and headed up on stage. Doc worked on the camera, muttering about deleting. I chuckled, then my ears perked. Janny had chosen "Manic Monday" by the Bangles. I nodded my head to the beat. Hey, the girl can sing! Kev leaned over.
"So, about my fee..." My head whipped around and I dropped my second cigar in as many hours. Damn.
"What about it?" I asked haughtily. Nick snickered. Doc glanced up, swore under his breath and worked faster.
"I got you here safely. You owe me."
"And what, exactly, do I owe you? We never discussed a price."
"True and your first mistake." He's right too. Damn. "I think another date should cover it nicely." Now I'm glaring at him.
"Do NOT tell me you're so hard up for dates you need to buy one with an escort mission." Janny finished her song and came back. Doc glared at her.
"Thanks a lot, Janny. Now I'm missing their first fight!" I turned my head slowly and pinned Doc with my best "angry Integral" stare. He grinned. I kept staring. He lost the grin and tried to shrink into his chair. "What?"
"Watch the stage, Holiday." I ordered. He turned around in time to see Sailor Venus, Akane, Harotu from RaXaphon and a Last Exile pilot scramble on stage and start belting out a very BAD "Lady Marmalade." I groaned and clapped my hands over my ears. Kev chuckled.
"Would you like me to find you a better place to be?" He asked. I glared at him again, then grabbed a pen and a napkin. Scribbling on the paper, I handed it to him. "What's this?"
"Your fee. And be flattered. I never do this either." He looked at the napkin, then at Nick.
"So, Alucard. Can I trust that this is genuine?" He asked, handing the napkin over. I braced my elbow on the table and rested my forehead in my hand. Nick looked at the napkin and flashed his fangs.
"Completely. You're a lucky man." He handed the napkin back. Note to self. Don't do that again. At least, not in front of Nick.
Let's see. NCP next, then Nick, then another NCP, then Sari, then Kev, two more NCP and finally Flesh. Yeah, that should do it.
