Day Two! There's an anime store here! Anime and manga and a bunch of really cool posters and Queenie is a happy, happy otaku. There's also at least one small Asian market that we spotted. Do you know what this means? Sweet rice! Whoo hooo! Although we had to leave the rice cooker behind, but that's ok. I will learn how to cook it on the stove.

So! Progress report, such as it is.

Got the car and life insurance transferred. Rental insurance is staying under CO policies until such time as we move our stuff out. Since we're not formally renting, there's no need to change the coverage. Once we get our own place, the policy will cover stored goods, no matter where it's stored. I heart State Farm.

DMV was the quietest I had ever seen. Yay for small counties. We gathered the necessary paperwork and gave the DMV Wells Fargo's info so they can get the title. This process could take days and will cost over $100. Good news is we have the money, most of the fees are one time only shots dealing with inter-state transfers and the registration covers two years. Compare this with the $300+ CO wanted to register Sherzi for ONE year. Yep, I'm loving New York. Even more so because...

PCAP, the state pre-natal program, does not have residency requirements. ^_^ I have an appoitment on the 15th to go see them and get set up and they're sending me paperwork to fill out. I have all the necessary documents, except proof of pregnancy. *glances at tummy, now prominently rounded* Yeah, no official doctor's note confirming due date, which is what PCAP needs. I can fix this two ways. Call the clinic where I had the pregnancy confirmed and see if they'll fax over that particular record, or get an appointment with the Women's Health Center here. The appointment would be retro-paid once PCAP confirms I'm eligible. And there's the simple fact that I haven't seen a doctor at ALL. So I'm going with the latter. I intend to call them today and get in next week. I've been assured by everyone in the know that when I tell the clinic I haven't had any pre-natal care and I've already started the process with PCAP, they'll see me no problem.

Markl's registered for school, mostly. We need to take in some paperwork stating yes, we live at this address with relatives and they are happy to have us, and apparently there's one set of shots still not confirmed. I've called the kiddo's clinic and requested that info be faxed over, and the school itself has requested that with the records from Arkansas Elementary. He starts Monday, regardless. Everyone in the office was incredibly nice and Wolf kept having flashbacks, as this is his elementary school. I was feeling strangly nostalgic myself.

Today's goals are getting the rest of the DMV paperwork turned in, the school paperwork turned in, and calling for my appointment. Oh yes, and get gas. ^_^ Yes, it's more expensive out here, by about 40 cents, but it's still well below $3.00, so I'm not complaining. We'll also need to pick up some basic school supplies, as everything we bought in the fall was kept by Arkansas. Kiddo's got his backpack and lunch box and three folders. ^_^

I'd like to get registered with Kelly Temp services today, but still having the kiddo may prove difficult. Yes, Mother Alyce is willing to watch him, but we can wait until the next work week. At least I'll be able to say, Yes, I'm on call anytime, cause I don't have to worry about daycare! Whoot!

We have arrived safe and sound in Vestal, NY. Pulled in about 730 local time and were greeted with lots of hugs and smiles. The trip did take longer then expected. Late start Monday due to logistic problems Sunday, an encounter with a curb in Sweet Springs, MO Tuesday cost us about 3 hours and $100 for tire replacement and ANOTHER alignment. Good news was the tire itself was free thanks to the warranty. The alignment and roadside coverage cost. Ah, the joys of Firestone. When we can afford it again, we are SO getting the lifetime alignment. Couldn't do it this trip.

The nekos did really, really well. They didn't yowl or whine or anything the entire trip. Did protest being shut up in hotel bathrooms at night by pawing at the door, but that was easily dealt with. Munsky has made one or two forays to the door of our room, only to be greeted by Missy, the resident Golden. Needless to say, it's going to take a while before the nekos work up the courage to sally forth. Might need to get another litter box and put it near our room. Not IN our room, I won't be able to sleep. I'm already having allergy attacks from the two dogs, but I'll adapt.

Tomorrow's plans are getting the car registered here and visiting our new local State Farm agent, then calling the PCAP people and making arrangements for my healthcare if possible. Also planning on contacting Markl's school either today or tomorrow, get him back in class. I'm hoping he'll start Monday. Yes, he'll be going with his cousin Sarah, they're two grades apart.

After that, gotta get registered with the local temp agencies and see what I can find for work. Wolf's gonna do the same. That'll be Friday or Monday.

Ok, that's all I can think of. Still a little strung out from the trip. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers. Please keep them up, we're gonna need to land work quickly so we can afford our own place in the spring. ^_^

Funny how one day of sunshine can put everything back on track.

Snow stopped yesterday. We got some necessary errands ran, hung out with the club and watched the Dr. Who Christmas episode, had dinner and came back home.

Today was spent packing. And packing. And cleaning a little. And doing laundry. And making a run to the storage unit. And packing.

There's still stuff to do, natch. Paperwork to box up, two more batches of laundry, ok, three counting the sheets, but I'm guessing those aren't gonna be done until tomorrow morning, the rest of the kitchen, as we cooked tonight and intend to cook tomorrow to feed the club, electronics, and all the various little odds and ends one finds when moving that get tossed in the 'Miscellaneous' box and taped up.

A LOT was done today, I shouldn't think otherwise. We're basically packed for the trip itself, just need to stuff the tolietries into their bag. Bits and pieces to round up and box, like I said before. (I'll probably tackle the paperwork here in a few, just to get it out of the way) No exact time on when the crew's coming, don't expect them really before noon, and we'll have to be done by 530 cause our reservations downtown are for 6pm. This gives us all morning to get everything else done.

I really need to get one more load of laundry done tonight, at least. It's only quarter after 8, I have the time. I'm just almost out of happiness.

Good news is, my folks were finally talked into bringing the kiddo partway. We're meeting them Monday morning in Castle Rock, about 30 minutes away for us, 45 minutes for them. 9 am at a restaurant so we can all have breakfast together. ^_^

ETD is still around 10 am 1/1/07. Goal is to hit Colombus, MO that night. Please keep us in your thoughts/prayers/good vibes/best wishes. It's a one way trip, folks.

*glares at the 4 inches piled outside*

Hey, weather gods! Have you forgotten something?

I'M MOVING!!

Yeah, we're waiting for Round Three, or in this case Act Two of Round Two in the December Denver Snowstorm Saga. Supposed to get another foot or so between yesterday afternoon and Saturday night.

Yes, it's supposed to snow straight through until SATURDAY NIGHT.

Wolf and I discussed it, and Wolf talked to my dad about it too, as when I called my folks they BOTH whined at me like teenagers being told they had to clean their rooms before going out to the movies. Gods. They just WON'T take any initative and make the drive up to drop off the kiddo. "Sarah, when's the snow supposed to stop?" (Mom) "Sarah, I drive a two wheel drive car." (Dad).

So now WE have to go get him. Depending on when the snow stops, it'll either be Monday or Tuesday. Wolf's not worried about the interstates, those will be cleared first if need be, and according to NOAA, once this system gets off the foothills, all the snow turns into rain. Big deal.

It really pisses me off that my own parents can't be bothered to take two hours out of THEIR day to drop off their grandson, but have no problem whatsoever making WOLF drive the extra two hours in what's SUPPOSED to be a 12 hour driving day but wil probably end up being 14+ hours.

Is it any wonder I'm looking forward to this move? At least Wolf's side of the family is considerate enough to make such a drive if the parents in question need the help. Not to mention the low-cost living arrangments, the free daycare, the overwhelming support of "Keep Queenie fed to the point she stays over 100 pounds"...

We're still planning on doing the furniture move on Sunday, roads permitting. We're renting dollies to make it easier on our helpers, and everyone's off Monday anyway, so if need be, we can do it then.

At least I don't have to go in tomorrow. Bosses all said "Don't worry about it.", my desk is all cleaned up and out, my timecard turned in and I left a note stuck to the pillar near the bullpen, just to be sweet.

Why am I posting so bloody early?

Because I can't breathe while I'm in bed. This demned cold has kept me up at least an hour every night since Tuesday. I'm waiting for the sinuses to move back into the 'runny' part so I can lay down comfortably and get some more sleep.

Walking past a nearby bakery will garner you a block-long conversation about said bakery from a nice older man who's been in there. I want a sticky roll!!

Weird music on Moontaxi this morning. I guess it fits, given today's going to be weird. There's a conspiracy going on here! A conspiracy, I tell you!!

Wolf and I had a long, serious discussion last night. We've agreed moving back to NY with more then a shoestring budget would not be in our best interest. Buying a property here, building up equity in said property and selling it in 3-5 years for a profit, THEN moving. This way, we won't be relying on reluctant relatives to bolster us. Gotta love alliteration. I've been reading too much Dominic Deegan.

However, Wolf isn't willing to move on any property in town unless it's below market value. His reasoning is "Already below market, we can roll our medical debt into the loan, get that out of the way for good, and still have a buffer for when the housing bubble bursts. Even if it's just a little pop."

I feel much better. Wolf was giving off obsessive vibes. He admitted he's addicted to online research. Always has to have something to look up. This tendency is what landed us in Sherzi. A good purchase, but one that did put our plans back a few months.

Vegas in September, eh. We both REALLY want to go, but there are financial responsiblities we've been neglecting for...oh...9 months now. I feel sorry for my lawyer, we've jerked him around so often and now he doesn't know where we are. I still owe him around 250 for the divorce and my will. Wolf owes Crash about 500 for various car-related purchases.

I confessed I had put a LOT of importance on Vegas without realizing it until yesterday. I see this as a chance to have a bit of a honeymoon, as we promised each other. Yes, we're going with other people and be sharing hotel suites, but we can set the time aside to have a quiet romantic dinner and maybe a show.

EEEEEEK! After 8! I'm in violation of timecard!
bloodsong1: (Default)
Well, maybe not. But there are schemes being hatched over here in Queenie-world. Hatched, slowly nurtured with discussion and even finalized with handshakes!

Wolf and I are agreed. If everything goes according to plan, we will be moving to New York. Back to the bosom of Wolf's family. It'll take us about a year or so to save up for it. Depending on what quotes the moving companies give us, we figure we need between 3 and 3.5K. That will get us out there plus money to live on until we find work. A place to stay shouldn't be an issue, his mom and his little sister have room.

In the meantime, we pay off what we owe to various peoples in and around the state, make a few critical purchases and figure out how to transport the nekos.

On the Fleet schtuff, we're finally paid for. The con, that is. And we intend to actually ENJOY ourselves by checking out what else is going on. Tenta-con after midnight, yay! Queenie can get her anime pron.

I also volunteered *smacks hands* to get supplies for the Friday night Mixer. Now the ex-co-chair wants to advertise for the bloody thing. Gods. I hope there's other room parties going on. I don't want to think about how much it'll cost to snack-feed 50 people, even with Sammy discounts.

That's all for now. East Coast friends, rejoice. The Queen will return. Hopefully. Everyone else, I'm sorry to leave you, but it's for the best for my family. You understand.

Love you all!

When things go right, they go right.

From having to give up Mel (she was a problem cat, we NEVER broke her of the pooping around the house habit) to rescuing two male kittens. Ironically enough, they're named Lilo and Stitch. Lilo, I have just discovered, is a love sponge. He'll take any and all petting. Stitch, on the other hand, is incredibly skittish. It took me five tries just to scratch his head. We'll have to get them fixed ASAP, they're already about 6-7 months old and I've seen Lilo (really needs a new name) exhibting dominant behaviors. He's gray with white spots on his paws, Stitch is black with white spots on his chest and white paws. It's pretty obvious they're brothers from the way they're behaving.

*goes after Lilo with the squirt bottle for scratching the loveseat*

I WILL break him of that.

Got my kiddo back after two weeks. Gods, I missed him! Of course, he would wet the bed the first night home. *sigh* I shouldn't be surprised, this is the third move in 9 months. Kid's been through a LOT of stress. Hopefully there will only be one more.

Got paid today. More then expected, which means we have money over the checks we wrote this weekend. Whoot!

Nearly finished unpacking. Still have our clothes, kiddo's clothes and the altar. Then I can FINALLY put up the Christmas decorations. Yay!! I need Christmas music. I have all of two songs. "Hey Santa", Wilson Phillips and "Santa Baby", Marylin Monroe. Need some Tony Bennett. His was my favorite album growing up.

That's about it. Need to figure out about when Wolf's gonna be home so I can meet him downstairs and get my check deposited.
bloodsong1: (Lilly)
*hic* I hate hiccups. *hic* Don't even know what caused the bloody attack. I was eating an apple! *hic* *munch* *hic* *chew chew* *hic*

Need to call Dish back ONE MORE TIME and get the account number, since all our bills and assorted paperwork is still boxed up. Then I can call Extra, give them everything and finally get our $400 back.

Oh good, the hiccups are gone.

Got the living room nearly finished. Bookcase is moved and loaded, movies and games are neatly displayed (Wolf asked me last night if I remembered the PS2 games. Yes, dear. Far be it for me to deprive you of your Deus Ex and MGS.). Still need to unpack the altar, then it's on to the kiddo's room.

The box of clothes didn't make it. *sulks* I'm out several sweaters, over $100 worth of lingerie and ALL my Ren Faire gear. Oh well. Guess that means I get to go to Vicky's sometime with Wolf. *naughty grin* And next summer I can wear jeans up to the Ren Faire and come home in silks. Oh yeah.

*streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch*

Hmm. Quarter till. Probably a good time to get my rear in gear and make that Dish call.

Seems that while I was busting my and my Wolf's and my nifty crewmates' asses moving into a third story apartment, things got interesting with some of my friends.

Aphie: *gentle hugs* Divinity, I wish SO MUCH there was something I can do. I'm very, very glad Jessichu is taking good care of you. I don't even have my vanilla, but I WILL light a candle for you tonight. I know exactly where it is.

Doc: Well, live and learn, I guess. I'm a little confused because I thought you were going to work at Walgreens, but this is what I get moving an hour away. Heh. Seriously, man. Next time you get a Sat or Sun off, get your hiney up here. We will take care of you.

Pikey: *hugs hugs* Thank you for the tummy rubs Friday night. It really helped. Hopefully your worknight went a bit more smoothly for it too.

My turn. )

Digga tunna, even.

Gods, I'm tired.

Spent the day in CS at the AR madhouse. Six kids, 18 adults, Lilo and Stitch marathon in the background. For a day normally spent stuffing oneself, I barely ate more then my usual. Less, in fact, since I didn't eat breakfast.

*waits for the scolding to end*

Yes, I know. How am I going to gain weight if I don't eat? In compensation, we brought home two plates of food and I fully intend to take those to work. So there.

Did make a quick stop at my folks. B-ger's got a girlfriend!!!!!! I tripped OUT. She's so cute!! I caught them cuddling in the kitchen when we were leaving and just waved. In fact, we skipped out not five minutes after he left. He was NOT pleased to see us, I could tell it in his eyes. Her name's Jennifer. Wolf thinks Bger's already scored with her. Could be, could be. I'm so thrilled for him. There were a few years there when I honestly thought he might be gay and wouldn't that just freak out my folks. *eville laugh*

Moving will be conducted as soon as fundage arrives. We'll know tomorrow by COB one way or t'other. Either way, daycare has been arranged for all of next week. Yay! Guilt-free sex! For a whole week! By Sunday the...sixth?, we'll be in our own place ANYWAY.

BTW, if you're feel like you're getting a cold, look for a tea called "Gypsy Cold Care". It'll be in the organic food section. It's helping me a lot right now. I'm taking it to work tomorrow and guzzling the stuff. I need to feel better fast.

Since my brain's blanking out, I'll go now. Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Now to brave the Christmas shopping crowds. Soon. *runs off shrieking*
bloodsong1: (Default)
Few things.

First, I have a job. Yay! I'm temping as a receptionist for Countrywide, the same company I worked for summer of 03. It's easy and there's enough to do between me and the other chicky that I shouldn't get bored. I was told this was indefinite, which means I could be hired on anytime or let go anytime. Heh. Either way, I'm not going to knock it. There's a daycare right across the street, expensive, but I'll take it for now. If there's something closer to where we're moving, I'll use that.

Yes, we're moving. We turned in the app yesterday and Gumby-chan was informed. Wolf did it himself, for which I'm grateful. He wanted to have complete control of the conversation and my presence could have been a hindrance. I didn't have to watch the ranting and now we have three weeks. I start packing today or tomorrow. There's not much to pack, just our room. Most of the kiddo's stuff never got out of the boxes. It's a nice apartment complex, with courtesy patrol, W/D hookups (no laundromat, but we can deal), wood fireplaces, lots of windows and very reasonable rent. We'll probably end up on the third floor, but considering what little we have, it shouldn't be an issue. We're talking two dressers, a queen-sized mattress and boxspring, a racecar bed for the kiddo (Gumby-chan got the full mattress), a bookcase, a hope chest, three barstools, an anvil (that'll be the hardest one) a dead comp, a vacuum, a steam cleaner, a hamper, the altar and everything else should be boxed up. We still have the boxes, hehehehehehe. I'm going to start with the books.

I doubt the parting will be sweet. Gumby-chan has to face facts, he can't afford this house. So he, Fran and Bo-bo will probably need to look for an apartment or a house rental that's more reasonable. 1700/month on one solid income just won't cut it. There are houses and condos out there, three bedroom, that are asking anywhere from 800-1000. Much more affordable. I'm sorry we had to do this, but my family was slowly shredding itself. I've lost weight, the kiddo has been showing signs of seperation anxiety when I'm two rooms away and Wolf has been very angry. This doesn't even touch on the current financial situation, which is bad. Recoverable, but bad. No more living with a co-dependant alcoholic. Yay!

The bus situation won't be as convienent, but that's ok. I was planning on purchasing a bus pass anyway.

Anyhew, time for me to unload the water catche so I can do dishes, despite Franny saying "Oh, don't bother." last night. Yeah, like I'm going to shirk responsibility. Please. You may not like me, but I refuse to be that rude. Did I mention the sink drains directly into our room and because of some clog or something, I have to empty a 25 gallon trash can twice a day? Yeah. Plumber still hasn't called or come by.
bloodsong1: (Lilly)
Pat was cremated and another old fried of ours peformed a lovely pagan ceremony for her and scattered her ashes in and around a stream that feeds into Helen Hunt Falls. Wolf helped by driving Rev. up, finding the place, and holding the bag. Yes, they toted her remains up in a clear plastic bag. That, I felt, was a little tacky, but other then that, things went fairly well. Gumby-chan didn't give a eulogy (sp?) like he was asked, sulked, got drunk, and got into a political argument with another guest. Nat took them home, which saved us the trouble, thank the gods. The wake was flooded with angst of various forms, but Cap'n actually spoke to me and called me by my name, YAY!, I was complimented on my dress whites and the kiddo was a trooper. All in all, it was a fairly good time for a sad time, you know?

Gumby-chan seems to have returned to his normal self; sleeping all day, waking up to make dinner, then heading out to the shop. Again, Thank the gods! I can deal with him much more easily when he's on the opposite schedule from me. This is clearly a case of "good friend, bad roommate". We were promised a lot of things that haven't been followed up on, most of them involving the kiddo. Wolf and I are looking for rental properties, preferably a condo or townhome. There's a lot here in our price range and better stocked then what we were seeing in the Springs. We figure tax time will be the best time for us to move; we'll have the money then and the time now to fix our credit, which has been totally shot.

The job possibilities didn't pan out. On top of that, I had a classic blunder move Thursday. I walked to a temp agency to meet with one of their reps. There was a gorgeous fountain on the front deck. I sat on the edge to look at the water and prep myself. Leaning over a little too far sent my cell phone right into the pool. Thinking it wasn't very deep, I rolled up my pant legs and went in after it. BAD MOVE!! The thing had a 45% slope down to waist-deep water. VERY COLD WATER! It took me about a minute or two to calm down enough to figure out how I was going to fish out my phone. I had it right between my feet, but couldn't reach it. Mind you, Queenie is afraid of water. Yeah. Not good. I finally had to dive to get it and lost my glasses and keys in the process. Those I fished up with my toes (go me!), then a nice older man in white clothes helped me out of the fountain. So, there I am, soaked from head to toe, shivering and I looked up at the sky, laughed and said "Thank you! I needed to be reminded of the absurd." The building management came out, hustled me indoors, and loaned me some towels and a jacket to wear back home. By now my cell phone is toast. I try to call Wolf, then decide not to ask him to come get me. I shiver my way to the bathroom, take off my top, dry off my torso and slide on the jacket. I decide to just walk home and get into dry clothes. My cell phone, after being dried and tested, to no avail, ends up sitting in the bathroom. *smacks forehead* By the time I get home, get changed and realize what I had done, I was about ready to cry. Instead I marched myself right back over to the building. Didn't find it, left Wolf's number in case someone turned it in, and marched myself home. It's been 4 days and still no call. Either someone kept it or someone tossed it. My number's been blocked, FYI, and Wolf and I agreed. I use his cell phone until we can get mine replaced and we don't talk to each other while he's at work. *sigh* I enjoyed those phone calls.

Anyway, tomorrow is my first adventure with the Denver public transport. I need to learn the bus system anyway and the temp agency downtown forgot some vital info. So, Kiddo and I are riding the bus tomorrow. I found enough money and there's a free link to get me partway there. Whoot! It'll take most of the day and I may use the 20 I have in my purse to treat us to lunch. The bank account is better then we thought. Sadly, we missed our chance to refil my birth control, so no boom-boom. Not that that matters much, we've hardly had the time and privacy to do so. Again, promises not kept. *grumble* Well, the mistake was made, now we just have to fix it.

And for the record, let me say that I love all you guys very much. Just wanted you to know. *HUGS*

Owie.

Fell down one of the half-flights of stairs today. Caught myself with my left hand. I don't think it's sprained or anything. What gets me is the left side of my face hurts! Note to self, socks + fluffy carpet = slippery situation.

Got two thirds of the library unpacked yesterday. We have serious furniture issues. The big dresser and hutch can't go anywhere else, but we still need to get the altar set up. Plans are in the works to re-orient the blue couch without cramping the desk, or so we hope. *crosses fingers* Maybe the captain's chair can stay up here and we can use something else. Hrm.

Also got a few of the hanging things on the wall. The Doc-dream mirror, Wolf's banner and the cross-stitch wolf his ex made. Everything else can wait until we have better hangers and furniture situated. Kiddo's spending the weekend with the grandmas, so we'll probably do it then. In the meantime, I can get some more stuff unpacked and re-arranged. The kiddo's things are waiting on Fran-chan and Gumby-chan. They need to re-work the sewing room and are dragging their feet. I understand why, but it does need to be done this weekend. I want my bedroom to be free of kiddo influence. It'll be easier to seduce Wolf.

Well, given my current state of owie-ness, I'm going to go downstairs and chill. Might not get much more work done today.

Shush. *glares at Cure fans threatening her*

Quick update, as that's all my wrists have time for. Heh.

Saturday was spent hanging out, dealing blackjack and falling asleep three times in the hot tub. Wheee.

Sunday was spent driving to the Springs, getting laundry done, getting cigars for Vegas mission, packing desk electronics, driving back to Denver, cleaning room, moving furniture, moving clothes, cursing the piss-poor job done by former occupant on the desk, (it was assemble at home and the guy fucked it up so bad it fell apart in our hands. Thrice! It's now standing by tension only. Heaven help us.), setting up electronics on desk and realizing we left a vital cable back in the Springs.

Yesterday was spent watching the kiddo, doing dishes, shopping for Wolf's new uniform and getting quality Wolf time (called in exhausted).

Today has been dishes (got up at 1050), quick trip to Wally-world for uniform pants and getting online. After Wolf heads into work it'll be organizing our room a little better and volunteering my limited sewing skillz to Fran-chan for the uniform. Oh yeah, and I've got to spot-clean my dress whites.

Wednesday will be more of the same, plus writing up POA for maternal unit.

Thursday, *eville laugh*. Thursday will be driving down to the Springs, dropping off kiddo early with maternal unit, then back to the house for combat boots, tie, shoe polish (erk), warmer clothes for kiddo and me (currently raining, NO jackets whatsoever or long sleeves) and whatever else we can think of that we'll need. Wolf has interview Thursday afternoon and departure for mission is Friday morning, TDE. We have two pilots and two navigators, so we should be fine.

And then Monday I go back to the Springs to finish packing! Whoot! Just call me crazy, cause I must be to have agreed to this. Oh well, at least I finally get a vacation! It's only been 8 years.

Lists.

Done:

Kiddo's closet empty, clothes sorted.
Good dishes packed.
Paperbacks packed.
Wolf's clothes packed and moved.
Our closet empty of packed boxes.
Adult dvds and movies packed and moved.
Closet and drawers purged once, rejects bagged and ready for Goodwill.
Kiddo's books partially packed.
Toys partially packed. (some stuff never left the box)
Paperwork boxes purged and re-packed.

To Do:

Empty our closet completely.
Do another purge of my clothes (no closet in new room)
Pack up rest of hardcovers and kiddo's books.
Pack bathroom up to bare minimum.
Pack dishes, pots and pans for storage.
Pack what food items are coming with us (down to teas and spices, really)
Pack the rest of the clothes.
Pack desk.
Call truck company.
Call landscaper to tidy up front yard (have officially given up on roomie)
Pack rest of toys.
Decide on keeping or leaving games.
Do minimal cleaning. (That's all it'll need to be cleaner then how WE got it.)
Decide which dresser we're taking and which one is disposed of. (room has a lovely dresser with mirror!)

This boils down to about two-three days of serious packing on my part, then loading the truck and going. The clothes that are already up here, with the exception of the kiddo's, are staying. We're leaving the bulk of the furniture behind, as well as the washer/dryer set. In fact, I doubt we'll need a 19' truck. There's two matress sets (queen and full), two dressers, three barstools, a 19" television w/stand and requisite periphials, a computer, two bookcases, a video case, two nightstands, I'm thinking we ditch the football toybox because it's falling apart even more, and all the boxes I've mentioned. A 17' might be the better choice and it'll be cheaper. Hmmmm.

Well, we'll see.

Oy.

Little boys and their stubborness. Heh. At least he gets it honestly. *grins*

I realized I haven't posted anything personal, might as well remedy that now.

Came home from Denver Monday morning. Wolf had had a bit of a scare Sunday, minor accident with some pads. His supervisor said "Ok, that's your freebee." Hooray for second chances! As Wolf put it, "The last time I got a second chance was with you." *beam* That was two years ago. Scary, ne? He's happy with the job and living with Gumby-chan. I'm looking forward to the move. I feel the need to prove Gumby-chan wrong on a few things. *chuckle* He had said the biggest hurdle would be me, because "you're used to having a man take care of everything." Um, no. Sorry. I did spend 9 months totally alone, y'know. Yes, we met under bad circumstances, but I've apologized for that. Let it go, Gumby-chan. I have. Don't like being reminded of my "princess" days. Need to talk to him about that.

The library's two-thirds packed. I'm holding off on the kiddo's books, since he loves them. But I can get the rest of our books packed. Then it's off to the kitchen. Half the dishes are going to be boxed up now, the rest will be the day of, since I need them until then. Need to send up the baking staples. I'm hesitant to send up my hanging clothes until I know I have a closet. Heh.

After books and kitchen it's the stuff in the closets. Decide on what we want to keep and what can move on outta here. I'm not keen on the idea of storing baby stuff in the garage. Yes, we plan on having another one, but it's going to be at least another year and, well. Kinda hard to box up a high chair. Need to talk to Wolf about that. The games can go down anytime, as can the toys the kiddo doesn't play with and all the clothes he can't wear. Don't want to get too far ahead of myself. We can only take up so much in the Saturn and the van isn't fixed yet. Get that done this weekend? That would be good, then they can convoy down and we can get lots of stuff up. Provided, of course, the one roommate is gone. Erg.

I think I should go pull some more weeds. *looks at bare legs* After I put on pants. Those tumbleweeds are killer!

Owie. *whimper whimper*

I survived the move! With verra verra sore legs and wrists.

Ok, recap. From what I can remember. Sleepy, too.
Moving recap )
All in all, it went well with only three people working at any given time. Renting the truck on a weekday was cheaper and easier. I recommend moving on a weekday if you can. U-Haul (C) rents trucks for a full 24 hours.

I don't know when the computer's going to be set up. The desk is in pieces and surrounded by boxes. It'll probably be sometime this weekend.

*looks at clock* It's only ten till 12? *groans*

Anyone want to give a sore Queenie a leg rub? *tired manga eyes*

Backstory: I talked this whole birthday thing over with the coworker who approached me yesterday. Since I'm broke for the next two weeks, I asked that she skip me entirely and do something for the next person in line. She agreed to this. On the way home, I mentioned to Wolf that it would be nice to be taken out to lunch. It's been a long time.

This morning: I walk in and find a gift certificate on my desk for the cafeteria downstairs. 5 bucks will get you a meal. I blink in surprise and wonder who the heck read my mind. Then! My supervisor comes over with a blueberry bundt cake, decorated with powdered sugar and strawberries. I protest a bit, she informs me she did it on her own, and I accept with a blush. It was still a little warm from the oven!

This is all on top of the birthday card Love sent me (Thanks for the pictures! *huggles*) that I received last night. Ironically, she addressed it Queenie, not my real first name. Thankfully, she also used my last name, otherwise I'd never have gotten it! Aphie, PLEASE use my real name when mailing stuff to me! We don't want to confuse the poor postal workers any more than they already are. Plus Wolf got me roses over the weekend. I chose them over a cake because I knew he'd end up eating most of it himself. Roses I can take to work and show off. *pets the display sitting on her desk*

Oh yes, and when I returned my mother's phone call, she informs me she "might" have something for me. *snort* What kind of comment is that? I "might" have a present for you. Tease.

All in all, shaping up to be a decent day. I'm debating whether to use my free food ticket now or save it for later this week. Guess I'll check the menu and see if anything sounds better than peanut butter.

*stretch* I'm so ready for the weekend. Yes, it'll be spent packing, but it's a 4 day!

Ok, bad Disney song stuck in my head. *grumble, tunes into her pop collection* Ah, much better. "All I Need!" Hee.

It's official! We have a house. Well, we have a year long lease with the option to buy. Which is more then we had two weeks ago, so I'll take it. *grin* Now for the packing. We won't have to buy boxes, thank the GODS! Our new landlord had a bunch of spares he gave us. We may also get to keep his couch if it doesn't fit in his trailer. And if the old washer and two driers aren't picked up this week, we get the money from those as well. *happy dance* So things are progressing. Wolf's getting services and address changes processed, I'll take care of the stuff in my name.

*blinks as a coworker leaves* O...kay.... Huh. I didn't know about this. Apparently birthdays are handled thus. The previous person treats the next. Which means I need to tell the last one what I want and then find money to reserve for whomever's next. A treat...hmmmm. Didn't get a cake, most store bought cakes have that non-dairy whipped icing that turns my stomach. Cheesecakes, on the other hand...I'll have to think about that.

Anyway, back to the move. The way it's shaping up is thus. The landlord leaves the morning of the 28th. The Uhaul (tm) will be rented for the 29th, which is not only cheaper, we get it for a full 24 hours instead of a measly 8. Packing will be done all this week, with the big push on the weekend. Wolf's also looking into renting a pick up (since we don't know anyone who has one) for Sunday to get the wood moved. The hot tub is gone, *sniffle*, but we can get one for 2-3K, depending on size and style. That will come later.

On the purchase side of things, our credit rating is fair-to-good. The bogus medical bills have been removed. A few more disputes and we should easily qualify in about three months. *happy dance* Homeowner at 26, this is good. Tax breaks!

Tomorrow, *shrug* Tomorrow will bring whatever it brings. I already got my present. Wolf found two out of print books I really, really wanted on Amazon. One was lost to the puppy eight months ago, the other was one I read as a teenager and hadn't been able to find since. Both were less than 5 bucks, but the shipping costs nearly doubled the price! Ah well. I also got some roses instead of a cake, which suits me wonderfully. I get more use out of flowers than food. Wolf would've ended up eating most of the cake. I feel a little bad that we were able to swing that for me, but we didn't have the money to get my kiddo anything for his birthday. Just too close to Yule. Oh well. That's what grandparents are for, anyway. *grin*

Back to work, I guess. I have paperwork stacking up in my inbox. More to come when I have the time and quiet phone lines.
