Ya kno, I had thought that the character descriptions were supposed to be more of a way of vetting newbies, making sure they don't just barge on in with something totally incompatible. I didn't see a problem with it. And personally, I'm a big fan of the 'secrecy' angle - Pikey does a fair amount of stuff without ever explicitly stating what he's doing or why he does it. While I've had to explain stuff to a couple players to let things go on, no character has ever figured it out. (Although presumably Aph would have known, but just never bothered to fill in anyone else...)
