Yeah, I went on a minor spending spree today. Know what? It was FUN!!! And the best part is, the bills were already paid and we still have a good-sized buffer. WHOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!! *happy dance* Every once in a great while a girl just has to spend for herself.

So, what I did today.

1000 hours. Mom picks me up for our day together. She's suffering the aftereffects of some nasty food poisoning. Ok, take it easy. Got it. Run to the bank so I can pay the friend who was kind enough to buy me my allergy meds. She's coming for tea. I need a teapot! ACK!

1030. Go to the interview I had scheduled. Gov't contract company, small but growing. Assist and babysit the engineers and programers. Issue. Bus schedules may not be compatible. Good, didn't want the job anyway.

1040. Done with interview, head out for lunch. Yeah, it's early, but the kiddo's begging. We go to Perkins, a local mid-grade variety. Everyone eats, which is good.

1230. Lunch is well over and we finally get across town to Pier One after Mom tries to take the LONG way literally AROUND the outskirts of CS. I save us at least ten minutes of driving by making her spend five on the interstate. She makes faces all the way. Silly woman. Get to Pier One, find the teaset I've been wanting for over a year. And it's on sale. Yay!

1300. Head up to the fabric shop. Stop at Walgreens, find the dye I need, 5 for two boxes. Also get glue for the mask and shoe care products for Wolf's steel-toed shoes. I'm gonna clean those up for him.

1320. Get to the fabric store. Score red silk for 4.50/yd. Cheapest price I can find for red fabric of any kind. Kiddo spots train fabric, which Mom picks up for curtains. Fails to ask me if we have a curtain rod in that room. (We don't, it was an office prior). Also pick up black thread. Mom pays, I owe her about 19.

1400. Arrive home, pin up train fabric to wall for makeshift curtain, put kiddo down for nap. Mom and I talk for a while, she offers to paint my mask for me since she has white craft paint. Ok. Go for it. You can replace it if you goof. Show Mom how to work the steam cleaner and a handful of yoga poses.

1600. Mom takes off, still feeling poor. I tidy up the house and get ready for my friend.

1815. House tidy. Teaset rinsed and ready to go. Kiddo up from nap and eating dinner. I make up some simple sandwiches to go with the tea.

1835. Friend shows up. Oh, I can't stay, with the rain my shepard will be ready to kill the pug. Do you have the money? Yeah. Here you go. Next week? Sure. She leaves and I am annoyed. Granted, I didn't go to a LOT of effort to do this, but STILL. If you don't have proper shelter for your outdoor dog, is that my fault? No.

I think I'm going to have to make myself some tea in my nice new teapot and break it in by my lonesome. *wishes she could get ahold of Doc* Darn it. I was looking forward to an adult tea time. *grumble* More proof that co-workers do NOT make good friends.
