Speed fingers GO!

Going down to the AR for Thanksgiving. I feel better about it, though still not 100%. But it's better then the alternatives.

Waiting to see if my direct deposit kicks in this week. We see money on Friday, we move Saturday/Sunday. We don't, it's next week when we'll have two paychecks and the DD should kick in that week as well. Cross your fingers for this Friday.

Job proceeding nicely. I was put in charge of arranging lunch for the office today. 160 people at less then $8 per. Subs, veggie AND fruit trays, and dessert trays. I rock. Boss said I can have the job of ordering food if I want it, she hates doing it. Also finally got my database access, now I can clean out some of these files. Did initial sort of one box yesterday, depending on what we're supposed to do with them, I'll either hold off on sorting the second or go ahead and increase my piles o'paperwork.

Fact: Denver gets more weather then CS.
Fact: Queenie is poorly equipped for winter weather.
Fact: Queenie needs her own comp.

We have a temp system set up (Bran loaned us his g3). It'll be about 50 to repair the G4, Joe is a scavenging whiz and top dog on Ebay. He can get us the power supply and install it. Everything else looks ok. Given that fact, a laptop and AirPort base might be the better way to go. It'll be about 500 more then replacing the desktop with a G4 Imac, but it'll also give us mobility and that has already proven to be an issue. Everyone else in our group has laptops. Can we say Zerg-Squishing? Huh, huh, can we?? *poing* Gods, I hope so. I always wanted to do that.

Time.

This office is dead. I'm not kidding. Both my supervisor and the branch manager tried to get me to leave half an hour ago. Heh. No thanks. Wolf doesn't get off until 530 anyway and we have to go shopping. Might as well hang out here, earn my paycheck and steal a few minutes online. Mwahahahahaha!

Yes, I will delete the cookies and the temp files.

Of course, the fun part will be waiting with the kiddo downstairs. Maybe I can snag some food from the kitchen. I picked out the caterer yesterday and he really came through. 'Course, there wasn't enough for everyone, so we had to order more. Mr. Mike is gonna love to see our number pop up on his caller ID. Twas quite nummy and I think there's leftovers. I'll have to go check.

The lobby is already decorated. Red, gold and green. Lots of it. *checks calender* Gee, Thanksgiving isn't until TOMORROW! WTF? The decor went up Monday. Gah. Growing up we weren't allowed to do ANYTHING Christmasy until after Thanksgiving. Of course, that meant my parents woke to Tony Bennett singing "Snowfall" at 7 am, because that was the first record I always put on. Yes, record. My parents were vinyl until about four, five years ago. I gradutated to cassettes in high school and it sucked trying to copy those records. Maybe I can find that album in CD now. Hmmmm.

Three more minutes.

Guess I'd better shut things down. I know there's no rush, I still have to pick up all the kiddo's things from the daycare since it's his last day. Even if we don't move this weekend. Gotta call d'grandma, let her know my mom's taking him Sunday night and does she want him Saturday or not. Need to wash his clothes too. Laundry tonight!

Yeah, time to get going.
