Oh, for a Muse of Fire!

Bitch.
Yeah, that's about how I feel. Fully immersed in a universe that's not mine and so completely stuck I've gone begging for help. Thank you Sniper and Doc. You guys are keeping me sane!
On a more real front, I'm waiting to hear back from two different companies. Interviewed last Friday and scored points with my bumbling attempts to learn Japanese (interviewer's MiL is Japanese, FiL speaks it fluently and randomly talks about setting up a class. Squee!), my Nano win and having a preemie live. Interviewer's due in March, how sweet! Longest sit down session I've had and about ten minutes of that was after the formal questions were done. $13/hour and full bennies after 60 days. That one will start in January.
The second was yesterday. About an hour from the house by bus, real easy to find. Barely ten minutes, lady was in a serious rush because the position needs to be filled ASAP. Answered everything calmly, even with the blister on my heel driving me crazy. Stiff boots, owie. Last question was the kicker.
"What is your motivation at work?"
"Myself", I answered and the chicky's face LIT UP. I'm not kidding. It was like someone turned on a low wattage bulb behind her skin.
"Explain", she said and I did. She jotted a few things down and asked what my motivation in general was.
"Love."
"Good answer." This one starts at $10/hr, goes up to $11 after 90 days and full bennies kick in then. I'd be run ragged for the first few months, then down time would occur, but looking for work is encouraged.
Both positions are data entry/management, some mail. The first one is for an industrial consulting company, my job description is more expansive as I'd have meetings to attend weekly and stuff like that. The second is for an interior design company, beaucoup bucks. The interior smelled like cedar and that was just the lobby! I glanced around and knew if I looked at any of the prices, I'd pass out. It's the kind of place millionaires shop at to have that perfect designer home. I walked out with a free coffee mug, courtesy of one of the companies that also put out a nice spread of snacks.
Cross fingers, pray, light candles, lots of good wishes, please! I'd love either one of these jobs and I really need it!
