List of Chores for The Weekend

Because, sadly, Goldie lost her mom last Sunday. I don't know when the funeral's going to be, but we will be going. All ST stuff has been canceled this weekend, thus freeing up our time to do the following:

Toss the loveseat (frees up deck space for storing and staging)
Clean the kiddo's closet, purge too small clothes
Pack up linen closet, leaving what towels and such we need for the next two weeks
Clean, clean, clean
Pack bookcase
Toss remaining VHS tapes (did that this morning)
Laundry, laundry, laundry

That will probably take up the whole weekend, especially if there's a funeral on Saturday or Sunday. If it's in a church, I'm gonna be twitchy, but I don't think she was Catholic. Ah well. We'll see.

So, about those clove-n-worts

I had the strangest experience at the bus stop. I reached into my bag and took out my cell phone. Looking at it, the following phrase crossed my mind.

"What a pity this isn't a a tin of smokes."

I WANTED a c-n-w cigarette right then. The sensation did not go away while I was sitting at the stop waiting for the bus. I kept seeing myself taking out this shiny silver cigarette case, popping it open, selecting a stick and using a cheap little Bic lighter to light up.

I could almost SMELL the cloves.

So I started doing some serious thinking. Why oh why am I craving a cigarette? Is it because literally half of the girls in the office smoke and I really like one and tolerate the other, but would like to join them in their little smoke breaks? Is it some weird desire to join the clique? Am I really starving that much for female companionship?

Or is it simply because I want to try something new and different and making my own c-n-w's would probably be less hazardous to my health then smoking tobacco? Plus it would be something Wolf and I could do together, as he sounds pretty serious about investing in a pipe because it's different and it smells so much nicer then his cigars.

Or, is it longing for an outlet for my frustration because I'm not getting as much as I'd like?

Gah! It's all three. More so the first and the third.
