A night's sleep
Aug. 22nd, 2007 12:29 pmAnd I've switched from "Bloody Hell" panic to "Bloody Hell" stragety. Still want to break down and have a good long cry, but there's no time for that. So!
Here's the facts:
Drya and Bronco are stressing out over a lot of things.
We are a major part of that stress.
I am working, temporarily.
Wolf is working, temporarily.
Between our two jobs we make enough to support ourselves.
We have NO guarantees we will have our jobs past September 1.
A three bedroom apartment in Vestal runs about $600-$800 a month.
Becca will still need to be watched by Mom, or Louann, or both. I do NOT make enough to cover the above rent and the same amount in daycare, which is what an infant would cost. Hell, I wasn't making that much in Denver!
If I stay where I am, I will need some form of transport, as the busses do not run within five miles of this joint. Unless, of course, we got a place in Union, which would require Mom to drive to us, an extra 10-20 minutes.
If I don't stay where I am, we'll have between $600-800 saved, barring further expenses like buying food for the house or paying them some kind of rent. This will serve as security deposit and partial first month's rent for when I DO find permanent work. Which could take weeks or months.
And, of course, all of this gets shot to hell if Wolf's employers decide not to keep him for some insane reason. Because that is still a possibility.
There's NO money to go get our stuff. That would take two months of savings. And while loaning us furniture, or going to Salvation army or Craig's list or some other place like that is plausible, god damnit all, we want OUR stuff back! We have very nice furniture, thank you very much, and to spend more money on junk just to tie us over, which would be another SIX months, possibly longer, makes my teeth ache.
*sigh*
I appreciate where Drya and Bronco are coming from. Two families in one house is very hard, on both sides. They've had to shoulder the financial burden due to my not being able to work for most of this year, and the simple lack of privacy is incredibly frustrating. Add in the bad, (Yes, I'm calling them BAD), communication skills and the low stress tolerances and the simple fact that it is THEIR home, I do understand.
That doesn't stop me from wanting to shake both of them and say "Look. We need this much time. If you can't give it to us, fine. Keep the children and the parents will go live in the streets."
*bursts into tears*
