Give them an inch...
Apr. 16th, 2008 02:07 pmI am now frustrated by the lack of automatic tranny access. I LIKE driving! I'm still nervous as hell when I start out, but after a few minutes, I'm good. I know I need more then several weekends worth of driving, but Mama A is loaning out her car to her eldest daughter's family as they are having issues with various vans over 10 years old.
What is with this family and buying used cars???
The House Drama has moved into Twilight Zone weirdness. We got a call from our agent last night, she might have a bank that will qualify us.
It's Wells Fargo, the same mega-financial-conglomerate that holds our car loan and our one major credit card. Because it is a MFC and not a traditional bank, the various agencies do not talk to each other, so there's no loyal customer boosts or perks. mew.
I faxed over the credit info, we'll wait to see what happens. I'm not holding my breath, as those challenge letters haven't been mailed out yet (letters are with me, envelopes are at home, yeah) *headdesk* We've also called the two agencies with the bogus collections and reminded them yet again that YES, they have been paid and YES, they need to get this settled.
I find myself hoping against hope.
blaisepascal asked teh intaweb about this whole sub prime broohaha. I'm directly affected, and I found out he was surprised we were trying to buy a house last year, given we had just moved. Hell, WE were surprised, but we took the chance and ran with it, for all the bloody good it did.
It's not about down payments, there's tons of programs out there for first time home buyers in this state to help with closing costs, down payments, etcetera. It's not even about work histories, as we've stayed in our respective fields for 5+ years. It's about an arbitrary number assigned by three reporting agencies reflecting your financial history. *sigh*
I understand why this is happening. As people have pointed out, this is the natural response to a financial bubble breaking. It's happened before, it'll happen again. Every decade, something like this goes down.
Understanding does not soothe the frustration.
