It never rains...
Jan. 14th, 2009 06:12 pmWolf's company had an official meeting today.
Layoffs in two weeks.
We're about 90% certain we're on the short list.
The good news is that the company is currently pursuing a program w/NY Unemployment that will allow them to keep everyone at 4 day shifts, with unemployment picking up the last day.
But no one knows if it'll be in place by February 1.
Wolf will begin the job hunting tonight.
This really sucks. Because of his ankle, he can't stand on his feet 8-10 hours a day, which is what his job description requires. Unless he can find another inspection job that allows him to sit. I suppose he could, but manufacturing is down 40% across the country. Binghamton and JC Robotics was one of the last bastions.
My job is secure. ^_^
So! I am hereby begging my friends and the interwebs for positive energy, prayers and all around warm fuzzies that we'll beat the odds and Wolf will still have a job in February.
Please, everyone? We really can't afford to have him out of work, not when we JUST got this house three months ago.
