Ok.

So I've been on the depo shot for almost a year now. Despite the bone loss warnings, and the constant bleeding, and the moodiness, and the recently occurring period-type cravings and cramps, I've been enjoying having a bc program that calls for a quarterly appointment instead of a pill every day or a ring every week.

Until the boobs started acting weird.

First it was the classic "you're about to have breast milk stains" let down feeling, usually accompanied with a tiny amount of solid milky substance. That happened on and off with almost no consistency for several weeks.

Lately, the discharge has stopped, but the let down feeling has gotten stronger, very uncomfortable for several seconds, but never approaching an ache, let alone an actual pain. I had brought up the discharge and funny feeling at my last depo shot appointment in November. I was told if it continued, we'd have to accelerate me to a breast care clinic.

Well, after spending Imbolc wondering what the hell was going on with this discomfort, I called PP and asked about being seen.

Now I have a referral for Lourde's breast care clinic, as we have financial assistance with them, as well as a request to have my thyroid and another hormone tested.

So PP doesn't really know what's going on and why my breasts have decided to hassle me, but it's probably hormonal and not necessarily a rare reaction to the depo.

JOY!

I'll be calling tomorrow.
