bloodsong1: (Cuteness!)
So Sunday was a specialized shopping run for chocolate, an air conditioner for Wolf, and clothes for both my kiddos.

Sam's had the A/C and the chocolate, and then we went to Target. Found some really cute dresses/jammies for The Cuteness, then went underwear hunting for IDK.

Now since The Cuteness is very mobile and loves to run, we usually let her wander around a little, using IDK to keep an eye when the parents have to discuss something. Most of the time this works out very well. Sunday, however, after debating the relative merits of 10 underwears for $2 more then 7 underwears, IDK comes back to us alone. No Cuteness.

"Where's your sister?" I ask.

"I don't know," He replies.

"Right!", says I. "Let's go look for her."

So begins The Cuteness hunt. I send IDK to stay with Wolf and start chasing every excited shriek I hear. Naturally, there's about a half-dozen kiddos around The Cuteness' age making noises in the children's department. So, I head back in the direction IDK had come from.

And find The Cuteness happily charging down the main aisle by the registers, a red-shirted Target employee on her heels calling her in.

"There you are!" I exclaim as I emerge from the boys section to scoop her up.

"Never mind, parent has found child," The employee says into his radio. I thank the employee and hustle off to find Wolf and IDK.

Sunday evening, after showers, I announce to the fambily that I'm not angry, nor was I angry in the store, but by the gods, when I tell you to watch your sister, I mean it.

After the kiddos are in bed, I ask Wolf about the incident.

"You surprised me."

"How so?"

"You didn't panic. I was expecting you to panic."

To be perfectly honest with you, LJ-Land, I had one ear cocked for an announcement of "Lost little girl, blonde, blue eyed, wearing an ivory tshirt and blue shorts, please pick up at..." and the other ear cocked for Cuteness' shrieks and/or giggles. No thought of "stolen child" until, well, that night in the shower.

Now, if we had been in CO, yeah, I would have panicked.

Wolf requires your superior math skillz.

Boosting from Earth orbit at 1 G, how long will it take you to decelerate into Saturn's orbit?

Please respond in here, as Wolf wants you to have plenty of time to think about this.
