Yay for quiet Saturdays
May. 15th, 2010 12:56 pmSo far I've managed to get the kiddos up and fed, a loaf of banana bread made (to rave reviews, thanks Eva!), a load of dishes done and about 4-5 rows of crocheting.
Yes, Queenie has taken it upon herself to start crocheting again. I blame the Cross Stitch of DOOM, as it was getting intimidating and I still don't have a proper bag for it. *Looks at Ithaca, cocks head* I have three skeins of thin thread, the kind you can make lace and doilies from, in green, red and black. I also have a thin hook. So I decided to attempt a fashion scarf, something to decorate the neck but does nothing to keep one warm. I'm using the green thread and the basic single stitch. This is also an attempt to crochet a straight line.
Which, like drawing, I can't do with a ruler. The end is flared and I've got a small wave going. I think I'm getting closer, though, as one side is definitely straighter then the other. But I shall continue until I have something approximately scarf length. I'm finding it oddly relaxing, even though it's giving me odd cramps and blood reduction to my fingers after about 4-5 rows.
It's also led to wandering thoughts of Lady and what that means.
So, LJ-land, how do you define "Lady"? I don't mean rank, I mean behavior. Attitude. What makes a lady a Lady and not just some dame/broad/whathaveyou?
