Bobby + Becca = Fun for all.
Jun. 27th, 2010 11:05 pmCuteness is now a requested presence in Bermania. I find that wonderful.
IDK had suggested a MagnaDoodle (tm) for Bobby. This is an excellent toy for teaching basic writing skills without going through sheets of paper. It's a magnetic board that is filled with iron fillings. An attached stylus has a magnet in the tip, which attracts the fillings as you write and draw. Some even come with stamps.
After picking up the present (along with IM 2 bag because Toys R Us doesn't sell plain large gift bags and tissue paper), we headed out. I took my ginger, but it didn't help as much this time. I ended up crashing in the Blue Room for about half an hour, which helped tremendously.
Cuteness had not napped Saturday, so when I found her lying on the floor loudly declaring "Good night!", I knew it was time. I took her upstairs and let her nap in Bobby's crib w/Barb's permission.
It was good to see Jamie again, and she offered to help me find hot weather work clothes so I'm not dying by 3:30 pm. I heart Jamie. I pimped out the Faerie Festival to anyone who would listen, and some ideas were tossed about that would benefit Bermania. I hope they follow through, 'twould be awesome.
Barb always puts out a good spread, and the cake she got was lovely. I got Cuteness up after the obligatory singing, so she could enjoy the cake too. After cake was presents, and then a parade to the new sandbox. All the kids had a blast, and even more fun with the wading pool. I stayed inside and managed to get Wolf hooked up with a film school student specializing in editing. His mother was very sweet and listened to my venting about work and reassured me that all will be well.
By 7 pm, Cuteness was soaked through. I had grabbed a change of clothes, but they got left behind on the couch. Cuteness was summarily stripped and dried off, then tucked into the extra shirt still lingering in the diaper bag and her Pull up for the trip home. Barb also passed along a shirt I had left behind and two bags of clothes for IDK, because one of her co-workers seemed not to care that 2T does NOT = 8 regular. We will give them back in about 5 years.
This weekend was exactly what I needed to decompress after the last few weeks at work. I know I'm still under the microscope, and I have to STOP before I answer the phone, and keep my voice cheerful, and prostrate myself when people complain, but I feel like I can do it now, and I'm not dreading Monday. I consider this progress.
