Tea Bags and Ribbon Dreams.
Mar. 6th, 2013 07:25 pmThankfully, no call or show by Uncertified. I will call the certified guys tomorrow and schedule for next week, with proper apologies and self-deprecating humor. I feel very good about my decision and SNB did not tease/harass/pick on me. That was a big comfort.
Today I cleaned out my wheeled cart of drawers. I purged a lot of old herbs, a few odds and ends and set aside a bunch of plain acrylic picture frames for SA or Goodwill offerings. I'm really not a picture person and even less a horizontal-surface-required picture frame picture person. I ended up with two empty drawers (huzzah!) and condensed tea and sewing drawers. Simple Abundance is adamant about not just bringing Order to your surface areas, but all the catch-places too.
During the purge, I found my tea bag supplies, complete with instructions! Remembering the fine texture of my loose chamomile and various mints, I decided to whip up some more and fill them. I made six in roughly three hours and filled them out of the smaller bag of chamomile. There's enough to make one or two more bags. I brewed one as a test and it worked beautifully. Cleaning the bag out later was messy and slightly icky from the texture. I hung that one up to dry in the kitchen window to be filled tomorrow, or whenever it dries.
Now that Cuteness' room is purged and tidy, the urge to paint is getting very strong. She decided on a pretty light green, a few shades lighter then green apple. I'll probably need to pick up a gallon of primer to cover the various pink and green color test patches before we actually paint. I have the roller, brushes and paint pan. I will probably need new tarps, as I'm not sure where the old one is, and I'll need new roller covers. Two gallons ought to do it, her room's not much bigger then mine, just laid out in a L shape. Then I will feel even more justified in ordering her a Smallrus and a Squishy the Neuron. Yay Red Wombat Studios!
For the last week or so, I've been falling asleep to a white noise app on my phone. It has about 36 different sounds, ranging from waves to chanting to "butterfly", which is a series of repetitive notes. It even has purring, which is a little painful for me. My allergies are better without a cat, but the desire for one is slowly growing. It also has about five different kinds of rain. I decided the first rain was the easiest to listen to, especially if teamed up with wind (you can create sleep-inducing symphonies with this app!) I end up with a specific visualization that's changed my Simple Abundance meditations. I tend to fall asleep before the serious discussion starts.
Tomorrow SNB and I will go out to breakfast and errands. He has to work at 12, so I'll keep the car and finish any running around after I've dropped him off.
Friday Mama A and I are going shopping for my birthday. Maybe I'll invest in lingerie again...
