I really am a sucker for a good story
Oct. 4th, 2015 12:40 pm"Centuries" by Fall Out Boys has been MV'ed for Assassin's Creed: Unity, set in the French Revolution. Curiosity drove me to Wikipedia, as it always does, and I discovered the plot for Assassin's Creed.
It's FASCINATING!
I knew Zelda had a reincarnation theme going and there was chatter about how it was the perfect game to bring Strong Female Characters into the primary role, having Zelda be the Prince and Link be the Hero.
Assassin's Creed takes this idea and goes sideways with it. In the series the player is hooked into a VR machine that lets them relive past lives, learning skills and parkor-ing their little hearts out. Since I'm not a Microsoft Girl, we can only get Assassin's Creed 2 for my Airbook and Unity & Brotherhood for the PS4. 2 was cheaper, so we're downloading it through Steam for IDK (Indestructo-kiddo) to play so I can watch. Platforming is my kryptonite, I HATE it. But I enjoy watching.
Naturally, you're playing a male character. Female assassins are few and far between, sadly, it would have been nice if the hero got mind-dumped into a woman. But I understand the fandom is boy driven, which is why I play farming sims and Don't Starve.
I've heard only good things about the series, and with the rating being M for ALL THE VIOLENCE, IDK will only be playing it when Cuteness is asleep and I'm watching. Looking forward to seeing how it works.
