But this story is demanding, so...
"Hi, Sari!" Nick caroled.
"NickKevinvitedmetohisbirthdaypartyandhisfamilyisgoingtobethereandhelivesonRIVERSIDEDRIVEandthere'sgoingtobeoldfriendstheretooandIdon'tknowwhattowear!" I babbled. Nick sighed.
"Summarize, Sari, please."
"Kev, birthday, FAMILY!"
"You're meeting Kev's family for his birthday."
"His family's going to be at HIS place for his birthday."
"Sari, that is perfectly normal. Why are you freaking out?"
"NICK!" I hollered. Really, for a best friend he can be such a GUY. "Family Meeting! It's only been three months and it's such a big step and I know we have this bond thing going on and I'm sure he's laughing at me right now, but I'm a little freaked out because I'm meeting his FAMILY in FOUR DAYS AND I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!!!" I panted. Silence reigned for about 20 seconds and then.
Laughter spilled out of my cell phone. I gaped at it. He's LAUGHING? At a time like THIS!?
"ELF YOU ARE NOT HELPING!!!"
"Ahahahaha, s...sorry, Sari, you, hahahaha, you're such, ahahahaha,, such a GIRL now!"
"I resent that comment. I'm calling Rick. He'll understand," I growled.
"Heeheeheeheehee, 'k, bye." I punched the end button as hard as I could and dialed my next-best friend, Rick.
Ten minutes later, I was throwing my phone into my bag and burying my head in my arms on the table. Rick had laughed too. Oh, not as hard, but I could hear the giggles in his voice at my predicament. Honestly! What's a geek gotta due to get some sympathy? I sighed and shoved away from the table, grabbing my bag and once again shaking my fist at the microscope. I swear it was smug. Nothing for it. I have to go throw myself at the mercy of Macy's. The salesgirls there had proven themselves wise in all things dressy.
Oh ZHADE!! I'm going to need Innnnnnpuuuuuuuutttttttttt!!
