Joe P. came down for a visit. This was very nice of him and I'm very glad he did so. I was able to get my work stuff done and all the other errands run before he called to say "Hi! I'm on my way!" In fact, I had gotten the kitchen reclaimed, with IDK working on the living room.

It took a lot of raised-voice reminders, but he did do a good job on the living room and he got the dining room floor mostly swept while I finished the table, just before Joe showed up. I made it a point to praise him in front of Joe AND reward him with chocolate.

Joe had come down to take us out to dinner. We went to Sakura, as it serves excellent sushi and generous portions. The kiddos and I split the chicken teriyaki, Joe had a large sushi platter and I indulged in salmon roe because it is wonderful stuff.

I had bought a new PS2 to replace our battered old one. I was also VERY annoyed that the PS3's current incarnations are NOT backwards compatible. WTF, Sony?! Joe and I did a test run of the PS2's DVD playing ability with Kill Bill Vol. 1. Aside from having to jack the audio to 80+, it worked beautifully. Now I can do my Alien marathon. Whoot.

Joe and I had a discussion before KBV1 regarding grief, relationships and What Queenie Does Now. Since the ring relocation and the Gust of Divine Wind experience, I have been looking at my house and wondering where and what I could/should/need to change to reflect the Me as opposed to the Us. Currently the top project on the list is do another book purge and get the big honking bookcase OUT of the dining room. I'm thinking a dual purpose banquette. Something to hold the books I want to keep that aren't romance, anime or religious texts that I can hide with a tablecloth or curtains or doors and no higher then 3 feet. This will then open up that wall to install floating shelves so I can display my tea pots and fine tea cups, which will, in turn free up space in the kitchen and hopefully give me a better parking place for my handy dandy rolling cart. All the religious and magic and tea books will go into the ritual room in another, proudly pagan bookshelf, where they belong.

That was all last night. Today was a long conversation with the Embodiment Lady about the Cat with 4 Eyes dream and how she and her group interpreted it. Her version focused more on the Chakras and meditation, which is understandable because that area is her greatest strength. She saw something for herself in my asking for interpretation, which is also understandable. It all worked out to the same thing. I've reached a Major Point in my life and it's time to evaluate, reorganize, and start working on the Authentic Queenie.

Today was also another goodbye to Wolf. I found an old dream journal of his while looking for my Big Blue Book of Witchcraft and read it. After I finished the last entry, I grabbed a pen and wrote him a long letter. It wasn't long before I felt him behind me, reading over my shoulder. We shared a chuckle over something I did in the journal and I closed the letter thanking him for his love and his time spent with me.

Then I cried, but it wasn't the deep, soul-wrenching sobs of grief I had during my Beautiful Breakdowns. It was a much gentler cry and I was able to really smile through my tears.

I am doing Something Right. Not sure where it's going to lead me, but I'm actually looking forward to the journey.

And that, my friends, is a wonderful feeling.

Yay for progress!

(And it's ok to backslide if you need too. I'm glad you are healing, but you can always be honest with me about what is going on with you. Progress isn't always a straight line.)
