Because apparently I'm better with other people's characters then anything on my own.
"Okay. Here's the situation. The Band of Seven have been spotted heading our way. We have a day, tops." Murmurs of disbelief and worry filled the small room. Kagome cut her hand through the air. "We have to warn the other cells and get ready to evacuate. We can't use normal communications, Shippo and Shiori have confirmed all our wires and leads have been tapped. Due to our limited supplies, I need one person to be the runner."
"I'll go," Sango said firmly. Kagome glared at the slender woman, swathed in black.
"Not this time, Sango."
"I'm the fastest! You KNOW that!" Sango snapped back.
"You're fast, but you're reckless."
"I'M GOING!" Sango shouted. Kagome frowned and glanced at her sister, Kikyo. The twins were co leaders of their little resistance cell against Dictator Naraku and his Army of Terror, the Band of Seven. They both had incredibly strong spiritual power, but their methods differed. Kikyo was defensive, keeping their cell safe with subtle barriers and healing the wounded. Kagome was all offense, with arrows known to purify the demons that currently held all the power and resources in the world to pure ash and she was a brilliant tactician. Kikyo stared at Sango, who folded her arms and glared back.
"Let her go," Kikyo said softly. Kagome growled low in her throat and snapped her fingers twice. Sango snapped to attention.
"You have 12 hours, Sango. That's it. Get your butt back to the rendezvous point in exactly 12 hours, because we're not going to go look for you. And for gods sake do NOT engage ANYONE. Am I perfectly clear?"
"Crystal," Sango snapped back. She whirled and stomped out. Kagome glanced around the rest of her cell. Ayame, Kikyo, and Rin looked back.
"Miroku," She said softly. Shadows detached themselves from the corner and quit the room in a flutter of black and purple silk.
"Is that wise, Kagome?" Rin asked. Kagome's lips twisted into a bitter grin.
"He's useless without her."

Sango paused in the storage room just down the hall from the meeting area only long enough to arm herself with her favorite Glock 18, several clips of ammunition and wriggled into a flack vest that Kikyo had enhanced with defensive sutras. Chanting the names of the other cell leaders under her breath, she clipped a webbed utility belt around her waist.
"Inuyasha, Koga, Totosai, Jinenji. Inuyasha, Koga, Totosai, Jinenji." She added a combat knife to the belt and stuffed three ration bars inside her flack vest. Glancing around, she nodded, grabbed her boots and helmet, and headed for the garage and her bike. She never felt the brush of a tracking sutra as it stuck to her back and sank into her vest.
