Music as a Memory Trigger

bloodsong1So tonight a song comes up on my Ipod and I'm awash in Freelance Keep memories.
Hey, fellow Keepsters, all...*counts on fingers* three-four of you still reading this, do any of you remember the brief idea of making a teaser/opening credit sequence for Freelance Keep?
I do.
I even had the music picked out and it was blatant plagiarizing because I'm not a musician.
It was the opening theme to Neo Genesis Evangelion.
The hardest part for me was figuring out how to feature everyone that was playing at the time, as we had multi-PC players, and who got the longest screen time.

Court Magician/Fool/Alchemist Jhereg

Mist the Royal Familiar
Caesar the Ghost Knight

Noble Fleshpeeler, Fox Buddy Milo and the Three Pixies
We even had an episode idea!! Aphrodite was playing with Milo and they found a basilisk nest and were petrified by the babies. The Pixies saw it and ran for help to the castle and at some point EVERYBODY was involved in one way or another.
I believe this happened after the Ferret Booty Pirate debacle.
So I was listening to the theme song and giggling to myself and trying to recapture that anime magic that would have been. I kept seeing Bloodsong and Sildar wrapped in each other's arms with the Blue Light of the Kingdom swirling around them, Sarah shooting first and throwing fireballs second, Jhereg blowing himself up in his lab, Pikey wiping out a glass, Fleshpeeler waving his sword with the Pixies and Milo cavorting around him, Sniper-n-Crew posing all bad-ass, Kyther throwing MtG cards a la Gambit, Aphrodite blowing kisses to the audience and Lightdefender in quasi-monk robes with a book in one hand glaring at the screen while shoving glasses back into place. No enemies like you see in most anime opening sequences, though. Our enemies rarely gave us season-long-arc material. We were more of the mini-series (or BBC series) types.
