My point was those who do it on purpose will often have a severe self-esteem issue that needs to be addressed in order to heal. I have a very hard time believing someone who starves themselves to one-up the bitch who slapped her in junior high ISN'T suffering from a mental problem. Probably more then one and I wouldn't be surprised if there was abuse involved.
Am I condoning what they do? No. It's deadly. Women have died from this. Is it stupid? Yes. But you have to keep in mind the REASON behind it. It's not pop culture. The ones doing it to themselves and blaming society and culture are lying to themselves. They need professional help.
