No, don't feel bad!

It was the 23rd, and Cuteness' was the 27th, so as our custom we had a joint celebration last weekend, with lots of cake. So..much...cake. There's STILL CAKE

Last night I got my present, taking Mowgli out to a Stardust Gala in support of local theatre. I had a cocktail! There were queens serving warm hor'dourves (no, I can't spell today, shut up) by being part of the tables, the staff wore black with blue feather boas, and Christine Pecti did a lovely one woman show called Grand Dames full of FANTASTIC impressions. Her Ertha Kitt sent shivers down my spine!

We got lucky with a nice table, all older than us. I met a local chocolatier who does holiday events at the hospital and his charming, elegant wife, and two more couples who knew each other 20-50 years. Mowgli carried most of the conversation, but I was able to talk about the hospital and how we help those in need. One of the other gentleman was on the board in the past and asked me about the current administration.

The nicest part of the event was having Mowgli with me. It was one of those times where I felt Properly Grown Up. Attending a charity gala was a little expensive, and I didn't bother entering the silent auction because the opening bids were too dear for my pockets, but that was okay! I got to people watch a crowd I normally don't get to see, do some good for the community, and see a Broadway performer doing what she does best. It was an unconscious bucket list event, hobnobbing with wealth and being able to contribute to the conversations without feeling out classed. I even got a few pics!
