Owie. *whimper whimper*
I survived the move! With verra verra sore legs and wrists.
Ok, recap. From what I can remember. Sleepy, too.
Saturday. Kyther came over to help us pack. We got the library done, some stuff in our room and that's about it. Kyther treated us to dinner, we talked Keep stuff (this is going to work out nicely, I can feel it.) then we went home. Played a few shoes of blackjack, watched Slayers and went to bed.
Sunday. Kiddo went off with Grandma, we ran a load of stuff over to the new house, went out for brunch, and Kyther headed home. Wolf and I packed our clothes, made another run, then called it a night. We played another shoe's worth of blackjack and went to bed early.
Oh, I should probably explain something. Wolf bought a blackjack set. It included the felt topper, a six deck shoe, a shuffler, chips and six decks of Harrah Casino cards. Some were marked. *shakes head* We needed some adult entertainment.
Monday. Bright and early. Dropped off the kiddo at maternal's house, picked up Doc and the truck. Between the three of us we got the rest of the house packed and loaded onto the truck in about six hours, minus the lunch break. Naturally, there were things left behind. Couldn't be helped. Most of it was either cleaning supplies or junk. We headed over to the new house. Our roommate Nat was up, yay! Wolf headed back to the old house to meet with the ex-landlord. Doc, Nat and I unpacked 2/3 of the truck in two hours, then decided to stop until Wolf came home with food and kiddo. Nat went out for drinks while we waited. Only stuff left was heavy furniture and the last load of boxes. Wolf and Nat came home about the same time. We ate, put the kiddo to bed, and finished unloading. Everyone decided that was enough. We played another shoe of blackjack; Wolf and Doc shared half a bottle of Yeagermeister (sp?). Doc was nicely hung over the next day. Went to bed late.
Tuesday. Dragged ourselves out of bed. Doc, Wolf and I ran a few errands before heading back to the old house to clean. Spent about...four hours or so scrubbing, vacuuming and mopping. Went back to the new house to meet the satellite installer. We got a nice hour and a half break. Doc and I napped a little. After the installation was complete (and a 5 buck penalty for not having a phone line, per month. WTF?), the guys dropped me off at the house to continue cleaning. Wolf took Doc home, picked up the kiddo and came to get me. I had all but the kitchen and the carpet shampooing done. Wolf and I finished the kitchen, went out for supper and went home. Yes, home to our nice, new, big house. In all its unpacked glory. *groan*
Wednesday. I went to work. *grin* Wolf and the kiddo are back at the house, shampooing the carpets. We're not getting the security deposit back. Damage to the wood floor in the study was more than we expected. Plus there's some wallpaper damaged from the puppy we tried to have. (didn't succeed, gave it away) I don't know if the landlord would be willing to put one of those new floating wood floors over the damaged one. It would be cheaper all the way around.
Tonight it's installing the washer and dryer, unpacking the kitchen and moving stuff around in the kiddo's room. Nat works nights, he won't be available for the rest of the week. *yawn* I'm gonna need some coffee. Pepsi Vanilla isn't cutting it.
This is all on top of the kiddo and I being sick, and Wolf _getting_ sick. We're wiped. *sips coffee*
All in all, it went well with only three people working at any given time. Renting the truck on a weekday was cheaper and easier. I recommend moving on a weekday if you can. U-Haul (C) rents trucks for a full 24 hours.
I don't know when the computer's going to be set up. The desk is in pieces and surrounded by boxes. It'll probably be sometime this weekend.
*looks at clock* It's only ten till 12? *groans*
Anyone want to give a sore Queenie a leg rub? *tired manga eyes*

Any news on whether you can make the Keep party in August? If everyone who's trying makes it, Aphi's gonna have her hands full. ^_^
One day at a time, Pointy-Ears.
