The Garden Peon
Jul. 19th, 2014 07:16 pmonce again has stinging, sore hands and dirt all over her. whee.
has dug out the smallest of the three back yard flower beds.
has burned a lot of yard waste in her snifty chiminea.
actually got IDK to do some manual labor!
has cleared around the compost bin. We can reach the compost bin! We can USE the compost bin! Yay!
has a cleaner deck! (Sweeping really needs to be done, it will be done tomorrow.)
is determined to get her stamina up.
So!
Today was about...3-4 hours shoveling, lugging, breaking, burning and shoving various organic matter around. The huge mess of grass and wood is now a smaller mess of grass and wood moved completely behind the garage and spread out more neatly in a possibly silly attempt to make the composting actually compost. I found about a dozen fat, happy worms who were NOT happy about being dug up. I also yanked out three large burdock plants that will have to be bagged for garbage. Huzzah for burdock instead of giant hogweed! I'm still digging tiny black thorns out of my fingers from whatever thorny plant was back there dead and burnable. Hurts.
I'm also doing yoga, crunches and unweighted leg lifts 2-3 times a week. This is all prep work for when it comes time to start pounding tires. My asthma is an issue, if I can get my core and my arm strength up, as well as my overall stamina, then that kind of grunt work should be a little bit easier.

Seriously. Please do NOT comment about the earthship plans, what I'm doing or how asinine you think I am for not listening. I am listening. I have read what was written. I agree this is a big project and it's going to take time and effort and money. Let me work on this my way. You'll have your chance to tear it all apart soon enough. I promise.
