The Goddess is Alive and Magick is Afoot!
Apr. 1st, 2015 07:22 pmToday I had a meeting with one of the hospital directors regarding my project. I wore pearls (for wisdom), put on my makeup, asked for Grace and was channeling the Goddess through a wonderful song called "Deity" when the director walked in ten minutes early. I quickly popped the iPod into my pocket.
She introduced herself and explained that my job is going to be expanded and made its own department as more insurance companies are brought in. She will be in charge of this new department. Yay! She's also reaching out to providers and patients on why preventative care is important and needs to be documented clearly. YAY!
When she finished, I explained the forms I use, what is required and how I break down the work into manageable pieces. She was impressed with my knowledge, my work ethic and my passion. So much so, in fact, that she asked me to apply for the first new position so I can train people. She informed me it would be a promotion, not a lateral move, full time permanent with benefits. She is also a mother, so work days are flexible as long as it adds up to 40 hours/week.
Guys? I'M GETTING A PROMOTION!! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE!!!
She'll keep me posted on when the job goes online so I can apply. We have to do the HR dance and the new department doesn't have a home yet, but I can stay where I am until it does.
I asked for a raise. She said she would push for it, as my skill level demonstrates justification, but no promises, obviously. She was also excited to hear about the vacation and said it wouldn't be an issue.
