Have you ever...

Have you ever known someone so well, that no matter what is said or done, you can forgive and forget? That you can complete each other's thoughts, sentences, questions? That it feels you're sharing a link so complete, nothing can sever it?
Have you ever wanted someone so much, that looking into their eyes is like falling into the abyss? That the merest brush of their fingertips can make you shiver? That a hug is both arousing and comforting at the same time? That a kiss can ignite you? That when you finally join, it feels so complete, so right and so good, you want to scream? That the experience is beyond anything you have ever felt or dreamed about?
Have you ever been with someone long enough that you can't go to sleep unless they're lying next to you? That you turn towards them in the middle of the night, without realizing it? That you know all their ticks, quirks and pet peeves? That they know all of yours?
Have you ever been so comfortable with someone that you can sit in silence together and not have it be tense or uncomfortable? That you can confess your darkest secrets, deepest fears and naughtiest fantasies without hesitation or regret? That you know all of their secrets, fears and fantasies and accept them? That a look can say as much as an entire conversation?
Have you ever loved someone so much that being apart after a certain length of time is painful? That you know, deep in your heart, that this person is the one you've been looking for all your life? For many lives? That you trust them with your life, yet would be willing to lay down your life for theirs? That the thought of their death brings a lump to your throat and courage in your heart because, despite Death itself, you know your love will last and you will be able to carry on? That the first and last thing you want to see each day is their face? That they make you feel invulnerable? That they make you feel vulnerable?
Have you ever?
Edit: Ummm, anyone want to comment? At all? Please? *manga eyes*

Date: 2004-04-26 06:11 pm (UTC)Serves me right.
Pish posh.
Date: 2004-04-26 06:32 pm (UTC)And I wouldn't *quite* call this a wound. After all, the knowledge that this kind of thing is out there and the hope that I can find it again is one of the few things that keeps me going...
