Hee! Now that I can access this again, time to explain what the heck happened since Friday night.

As most of you know, last week was not good for Queenie. Bad dreams, depression and overall weirdness at work. I was sooo glad when Friday night came. I could just sit and relax.

The weekend proved much more interesting. We went up to Denver to see an old friend of Wolf's. Spent Saturday night chatting with a bunch of Witches, pagans and one chicky that's a leeetle bit out there. Made new friends, one of which does prosthetic work for costumes! I'm gonna get me my Queenie ears for cost. Whoot! Managed half a shot of blue raspberry vodka. I thought about more, then realized I didn't want to see what I'm like drunk. Not around that many people.

Watched the first half of Battlestar Galactica, the miniseries SciFi had on last year. I had a big crush on Apollo and Starbuck when I was little, even though I only saw about five or six episodes. Having Starbuck be a smart-ass, well-built female...it worked. Apollo as a whiny, grudge-holding captain...didn't work quite as well. The Cylons kicked ASS!! I drooled over their fighter ships. "By your command." *fangirl squeal*

Went to bed at *gasp* 3am. Woke up by 730am due to uncomfy futon and copped another hour's sleep on the semi-comfy sectional. Spent Sunday morning talking, having breakfast and finishing Battlestar Galactica. Wolf found the house Xbox and played some Halo whilst I talked with F, Gumby's wife. Didn't get out of Denver until 530pm. Drove home, picked up the kiddo from the grandma (who had been an angel to agree to an overnight on an hour's notice), went home. Then the really interesting stuff happened.

Found two kitties in Nat's bathroom. Nat comes home and explains the kitties. He rescued them and a friend of his from a crack house that she had gotten tangled up with. The chick was put on a bus to her family, which just moved back East a week ago. The now-ex-boyfriend would be told nothing if he came by. And the kitties would be picked up in about three weeks. We agree to the terms and the temporary status, inspect kitties for parasites and wounds (appear to be fairly clean, which is surprising considering their previous living conditions), and move them into the secured half bath with food, water and litter box. By Monday morning one was meowing to get out. Sorry, kitty. Three days isolation. We did let them into the bedroom last night. They're underfed but not starved and slinked around the room low to the ground. Our guess is there's been some physical abuse. Stuff chucked at them, probably. I've dubbed the vocal one Loudmouth and the other Stubby because it has a squished-in face, like a Persian. Wolf'll ask Nat about real names. Loudmouth's the bolder of the two, she (yep, female) readily accepted petting. Stubby (couldn't tell) is much more skittish and the fluffier of the two. Ironically enough, both have coats very similar to Mel's. Only difference is Mel has white paws and is bigger. We guess Stubby and Loudmouth are about 9m-1year. Mel's 3.

That about covers it. Gumby and F will hopefully be coming down to see us this weekend. I don't want to make this a weekly thing, but twice a month is cool. Now to see if we can really afford to buy a cake or if I should just buckle down and bake.
