But I'm not. I'm zonked and that's after a poorly-made mocha at the movie theater. *sigh*
IDK is home safe and sound. He's gloriously tanned and I'm sooo jealous. He inherited Native American blood on both sides and it manifests with a spectacular tan every summer without burning. I realize he's at risk for skin cancer, but lordy, lordy. I'm actually getting Driver's Freckling, because I don't tan.
Saturday was a mini-Family reunion Mama A insisted I go to as "Wolf's representative". Gee, thanks. I recognized a few of the faces, but only a few. There were a double handful of out-of-towners and I was introduced as "Wolf's Wife." Goddess, I hate that. It's not even accurate anymore!! I did get a bit of revenge when they were doing group pictures and after all the blood family was together, they called for "Husbands and Boyfriends." So I stayed put until one of the cousins waved me over.
"I'm not a Husband or a Boyfriend!" I protested. "I'm a Widow!"
"You're still part of the family. Get over here." So I squished in next to Loooo and she kept her hand on my hip as if we were, well, lovers. Or maybe she wanted to make sure I wasn't going to scurry away.
I spent some time hanging out with the "married-ins", namely Handy BIL and Bronco, and took a lovely nap under the shade of a very lady-like maple in an attempt to deal with some heat-related queasiness. It worked as long as I was horizontal. Once I was vertical, I felt like I was overheating. blech.
Today was Captain America with IDK and Zhade. Not surprisingly, it wasn't the lead character that got the best lines.
"I'm not gonna kiss you!" Col. TLJ as I can't remember the actual character's name.
"Well, I did say a few years." Tony Stark Sr. (Sooo wicked cool and easy to see where Junior inherited a lot of his attitudes)
Well worth seeing, if only to keep up with the Avenger Program. It did get a little boring in places, according to Zahde, and the rampant jingoism had me gritting my teeth and muttering "WW2, WW2, it's WW2, let it go, this is accurate for the time period, more or less". It was also pretty easy to see which scenes were designed for 3D, which of course we WEREN'T watching so I could enjoy the movie. Zahde was hoping for a private viewing, but I knew that wouldn't happen on opening weekend. Hells, Green Lantern wasn't a private viewing for IDK and I and that was a good two weeks after launch.
Zahde and IDK had so much fun they want to do it again in a week or two, pending Ritual. Which reminds me, really should call RBDarkly and status that.
