There is one in Sydney, NY, about 45 minute drive, one way, with practices on Thursdays and Sundays from 6-9 pm. Recruitment is perpetually open, according to the STS (Southern Tier Savages & BC Rollers) website.

Mrrr.

Karate is about 10 minutes from my house and I DID promise myself that I would make black belt in Wolf's honor and name.

Since my counseling is essentially on hold for indefinitely, I NEED something else for processing emotions and all that.

Mrrr.

It appears that Southern Tier Savages are no more, having renamed themselves to the BC Rollers last year. The web-site hasn't been updated in 6 months.

According to the BC Rollers facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/bcrollers/info, practices are Thursday and Sunday at 6pm-9pm at the NYPENN building in JC (if I recall correctly, the NYPENN building is the former high school and is on Main St (17C) on the west side of town).

That's may be physically closer than Karate. I'd go down 434, turn towards the Mall, get off at 17C, turn right, and it's on the left. If I'm remembering where it is correctly.

Facebook?

Perhaps not, but you don't need to be on the FBook to click the link or to see the basic info. Including an email address that you can contact for further information since you don't have the FBook.

And WHY was nothing listed under events? That's what really threw me.

My league is 45 minutes away. Each way. Four times a week (Tuesday for Punishers. Wednesday for Endurance. Thursday for Maelstrom (when I go) and Sunday for Endurance and scrimmage). I understand the "Oh shit, it's far away" argument.

That said, Cat and Swipe used to drive 2hrs each way 3 times a week for practice when the closest league was Pioneer Valley.

Do whatever would be best for your personal peace of mind. If you want to complete your black belt, do it up! If you want to look into derby more, give the BCR an email and see what they're all about / how freshmeat works with them.

If you want to escape for a few hours of Beltane to go skating at the local rink, Jim and I would be happy to show you some basics. Assuming we'll be there... More on this later.

At this point I really don't know WHAT I want to do and my level of frustration is getting to the "choking me from the inside" point.

I need to crunch numbers.
