For the Record

Izzy-kitty, as she is now called, has been spotted venturing as far as the dining room. She is a little piggie when it comes to food, no wonder she's almost ten pounds! I have made a New Rule. If you don't finish your breakfast by supper time, you do not get supper. You get to finish what is in the bowl and it will be refilled with the roughly half cup of dry + wet food mixed in the morning.
Also of good note, the Fresh Step Ultimate, Scented!, is amazing litter. I cleaned the box yesterday and could only smell the non-toxic scent. No urine or feces odor at all. Color me impressed. I am not so impressed with Izzy-kitty's tendency to kick about 1/8th of the litter out of the box before she uses it. Might have to switch to the old box that has higher sides.
Last night she woke us up twice with meowing. *sigh* According to Jackson Galaxy (My Cat From Hell, Animal Planet on Saturdays, WATCH IT), the best way to fix night time meowing is making them play in the evenings. Izzy-kitty does not play. She will occasionally bat a ball of yarn around, but she will not be fished for any reason. I suspect jingle balls or a laser pointer might be more fun. We shall see.
She likes head and chin skritches and occasional stroking along back and tail. Tummy rubs are NOT an option. She also sports a serious motor. I'd rank it in the souped up V6 range.
My goal is to have her in the living room with people there to pet her and say hi. Cuteness wants her to sleep on her bed at night. I have to keep reminding SNB to NOT pick her up. He really doesn't understand how cats work. I will try and make him watch My Cat From Hell.
And on a completely different note, I had an interview with Guthrie Clinic today. Front end office assistant. They'll make a decision sometime this week. We shall see.
