Saturday was good. Hung out w/Bunny-girl, my cute geeky co-worker. I took her to the Rose Garden and she geeked out as much as I did. I also left a bag of delicious tea at the antique store next door while trying to wrangle a pretty dresser for the bedroom. Saturday night was gaming and the bar. The game went well, even though all I got to do was stun a handful of zombies and yell at my party members for leaving me in the Entangle (failed my savings throw) while they were busy disintegrating the Litch summoning all the zombies in the first place. I either need a cloak of flying or amulet of double speed or something. In that game I'm playing a flaming queen Dread Necromancer that has a thing for cat people and JOY! There's a hunky male in the party. His meow makes the Necro go all gooshy inside.

However, Saturday night was spent trying very hard not to thrash around in bed while feeling like I had all the geysers and fumaroles from Yellowstone living in my guts AND all my joints aching. Needless to say, I didn't sleep.

Sunday was spent still hosting Yellowstone's natural volcanic wonders while trying to eat SOMETHING without spending ten minutes out of sixty in the bathroom AND waiting for the joints to stop hurting. This was met with little success. It was with a small internal struggle I called in sick today.

Turns out Bunny-girl was sick too. I've NEVER gotten food poisoning from Rose Garden and given the low grade fever and all the aching I did Sunday, I think it was more likely some kind of bug. We may not work in a hospital, per se, but it's still a large office building and half the staff have kids anyway, so. Yeah.

Chezzie, my love, I'm going to have to cancel this Thursday. I can't afford another short check right now. How does January look for you?

Today was mostly rice and ginger ale. That helped a LOT. I'm going to have more rice, with protein added, tomorrow, along with the rest of the ginger ale. I'll take the heartburn if it means the geysers have been turned off.

The norovirus is making the rounds, and its symptoms are exactly what you described. It's very contagious so be extra careful about hand-washing, etc. Clear broth, white rice, toast, bananas. When I had it, the first day all I could keep down was small sips of water. The next day, I had some chicken broth, and finally the last day, I had chicken rice soup from the local Chinese place.
I found out this afternoon that I am getting stuck working my day off Thursday, so I can't make it, either. We'll shoot for January.

Considering it took out four of our staff plus one of the gaming guys, it's even money where it came from. Very not pleasant, I'm hoping the kids don't get it. I was able to eat half a pastrami sandwich tonight and a few swallows of goat's milk, so I think I'm over the hump, as it were.
